Succession Sunday: The Faithfulness of God Past, Present, and Future | October 4, 2026

Succession Sunday was a significant day in the life of Harvest Church as we celebrated God’s faithfulness through 23 years of ministry and formally commissioned Curtis and Clark Henry into the next season of leadership. Pastor Steve and Jolene were honored for their years of faithful service, and the baton of lead pastor was formally passed to Curtis. In his first message as lead pastor, Curtis reminds us that while seasons change, God remains faithful. Drawing from Jeremiah 29, he points Harvest toward the promise that God has “a hope and a future” for His people and calls us to seek the Lord wholeheartedly. The message also looks back with gratitude, forward with faith, and ultimately to Jesus, who rescues us from sin and gives us new life. The day included the commissioning of Steve and Jolene into their next season of ministry, the commissioning of Curtis and Clark as they step into leadership, and a time of communion centered on remembering Christ’s sacrifice and fixing our eyes on Jesus. We invite you to join us at Harvest Church in Arroyo Grande as we continue growing in God’s Word, living in authentic community, and worshiping Jesus together. Join us Sundays at 9am & 11am, and visit harvestarroyogrande.com for more information.

1 Peter 1:3–9 | Jesus Is Worthy of a Life Invested in His Kingdom | Steve Henry | Sep. 27, 2026

What does it look like to invest your life in the Kingdom of God? In his final sermon as Lead Pastor of Harvest Church, Steve Henry reflects on 1 Peter 1:3–9 and the life of Peter—a regular man, imperfect and sometimes reckless, whom God called, changed, and used for His purposes. Peter’s story reminds us that God gives ordinary people a purpose, meets us in our failures, and works through those who trust Him. Peter’s words point us to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Even through trials and suffering, our faith is being refined, our salvation is secure, and our future inheritance is kept by God. Because of who Jesus is and what He has done, our lives are worth investing in His Kingdom. Jesus is worthy of a life invested in His Kingdom: 1. We are regular people with God-given purpose.2. We are far from perfect, but we repent and keep going.3. We don’t seem like people God can use, but we trust God to work through us anyway. The hope of the gospel is that Jesus changes lives. Through His death and resurrection, He offers forgiveness, new life, and a living hope to all who trust in Him. Though we have not seen Him, we can love Him, believe in Him, and rejoice in the salvation He provides. Join us at Harvest Church in Arroyo Grande as we grow in God’s Word, experience authentic community, and worship Jesus together. We would love to have you with us. This Christian sermon is a verse-by-verse study through 1 Peter 1:3–9, with an emphasis on expository preaching, following Jesus, living with eternal hope, and investing our lives in His Kingdom. Acts 9:1–22 | Arrested by Jesus | Curtis Henry | Sep. 20, 2026

There are moments in life that mark us forever. Acts 9 tells the story of one of the most dramatic transformations in Scripture: Saul, a fierce persecutor of Christians, encounters the risen Jesus and is completely changed. What began as Saul pursuing the followers of Jesus becomes the story of Jesus pursuing Saul. This passage reminds us that no one is beyond the reach of Jesus. Saul went from being the greatest adversary of the early church to proclaiming that Jesus is the Son of God. His story gives hope for those who feel far from God—and for those who have loved ones who seem resistant to Him. God’s Word is powerful, Jesus is transformational, and we should never lose hope for the person who is far from God. As we walk through Acts 9:1–22, we see Saul confronted by Jesus, Ananias called to step out in faith, and Saul transformed into a witness for Christ. The same Jesus who pursued Saul still pursues people today, calling us to trust Him, follow Him, and surrender our lives to His purposes. If you’re in the Arroyo Grande area, we’d love to have you join us at Harvest Church. Come grow in God’s Word, experience authentic community, and worship Jesus with us.
