Episode 20 - Haunted Hops – Surviving the Night at Point Lookout State Park

What happens when two paranormal enthusiasts pitch a tent in one of America’s most haunted locations? Join Azi and Charity as they record live from Point Lookout State Park in Maryland, where the Potomac River meets the Chesapeake Bay—and where countless stories of tragedy, restless spirits, and unexplained encounters have echoed for generations. Once the site of one of the largest Civil War prisoner-of-war camps, Point Lookout is said to be haunted by the souls of soldiers who never made it home. Shadow figures, phantom footsteps, mysterious lights, disembodied voices, and ghostly soldiers have all been reported by campers, park rangers, and paranormal investigators alike. Armed with microphones, a campfire, and maybe a little liquid courage, Azi and Charity spend the night or try to explore the history, sharing the legends, and waiting to see if Point Lookout has any stories of its own to tell. So grab your favorite drink, pull up a chair by the fire, and join us for a night of history, mystery, and the paranormal… because sometimes the scariest part of camping isn’t what’s in the woods—it’s who might already be there.  Cheers and stay spooky!

   Episode 19- Poveglia Island

Tonight, we're coming to you live from the waterfront deck of CEO and co-founder Christian Layke and his wife Jenn's home in beautiful Lusby, Maryland... but the destination we're taking you to couldn't be more different. Join Azi and Charity as they journey into the dark history of Poveglia Island, a small, abandoned island hidden in the Venetian Lagoon that many believe is one of the most haunted places on Earth. For centuries, Poveglia was a place people were sent—but almost never returned from. It served as a plague quarantine during some of history's deadliest outbreaks, where thousands suffered and died in isolation. Decades later, an infamous psychiatric hospital would open on the island, giving rise to stories of cruel experiments, unexplained deaths, and a doctor whose own terrifying fate became part of the island's legend. But what really happened on Poveglia? Which stories are backed by history, and which have taken on a life of their own? Together, Azi and Charity peel back the layers of truth, folklore, and paranormal claims while sharing the laughs, reactions, and spirited banter that make every episode of Haunted Hops feel like you're sitting around the table with friends. Whether you believe the island is haunted by restless souls or simply haunted by its tragic past, one thing is certain—Poveglia has earned its reputation as a place the world still struggles to explain. So pour yourself your favorite drink, turn the lights down, and join us... because tonight, we're stepping onto an island that many say should have been left forgotten.

Episode 18- The house that won't stay still

This week on Haunted Hops, we’re heading to Connecticut to uncover the chilling story of the Donovan Poltergeist—a case filled with unexplained knocks, objects moving on their own, terrifying disturbances, and events that seemed to grow more aggressive with time. Before we dive in, we’re recording this episode from the beautiful waterfront deck of Haunted Hops CEO and co-founder, Christian Layke, and his wonderful wife, Jenn, at their home in Lusby, Maryland. It's the perfect setting for swapping ghost stories... especially after the sun goes down. What began as strange activity inside the Donovan home quickly spiraled into something much darker, leaving the family frightened and investigators searching for answers. Was this a true poltergeist fueled by emotional energy, the work of a restless spirit, or something even more sinister lurking inside the house? So grab your favorite drink, settle into your favorite haunted corner, and join Charity and Azi as they unravel the claims, the chaos, and the creepy details behind one of Connecticut's most unsettling paranormal cases. Expect eerie history, playful banter, a few skeptical moments, and at least one point where we'll both agree... we'd have been packing the moving truck. We are Haunted Hops—where the stories are chilling, the drinks are flowing, and the ghosts are never invited... but they always seem to find us.
