Episode 54 - Tish & Snooky Bellomo (Manic Panic)
This week on Haus Of Cult, we are joined by Tish and Snooky Bellomo, the legendary founders of Manic Panic. From opening the first true punk rock retail store in America in New York City's East Village in 1977 to building one of the most influential alternative beauty brands of all time, their story is deeply intertwined with the history of punk, fashion, music, and unapologetic authenticity.
We discuss the early days of New York's punk scene, their brief tenure as members of Blondie, close relationships with the likes of The Ramones and Ru Paul, to the evolution of Manic Panic over nearly five decades, staying true to their DIY ethos and values, and what still inspires these undeniably vibrant sisters.
