The Healing Power of Forgiveness: A Gift to Yourself

Forgiveness is often misunderstood as leniency, but it's truly about freeing ourselves from bitterness and regaining control of our lives. It doesn't mean excusing bad behavior or allowing toxic people back in, but rather releasing resentment for our own well-being. Scientific studies show that forgiveness can improve physical and mental health, lowering stress and enhancing healing.

Forgiveness is a learned behavior—it can be learned and practiced by each of us like any other skill. It allows us to heal emotional wounds, purge negative feelings and emotions, and forge stronger bonds. I learned first-hand the power of forgiveness after the tragic death of my warrior son Jason in Afghanistan. Forgiveness is ultimately a gift to ourselves, offering a path to a healthier and more peaceful life. Holding onto bitterness harms us more than we think. Let go, forgive, and take back control of your life. It’s a gift you give to yourself.

I hope you enjoy my video about the healing power of forgiveness. It is truly the greatest gift you can give yourself.

Please subscribe, follow and share this episode of my podcast on YouTube and on my website haveyoueverwonderedpodcast.com.
