[…] Local health care facilities celebrate, raise awareness of Suicide Prevention Month. Throughout the month of September, celebrated the National Suicide Prevention Month, several local health care providers and facilities took the time to promote awareness of local resources, remind anyone struggling that they're not alone, and remember these individuals lost to suicide as well as those affected by suicide. Health care providers across the area said there are several factors that can lead to individuals contemplating suicide, especially in these trying times. It's really more common than we think that people think about hurting themselves, especially now that they have a time where finances are tight for individuals and just life challenges, said Scott Lockhart, public health director of the Kentucky River District Health Department.
