I went into Lanterns knowing basically nothing about Green Lantern, and somehow the show made me care through a relationship between two people who barely seem to like each other at first. In this video, I break down why Hal Jordan and John Stewart work so well together, why Hal being a terrible teacher actually helps introduce the Green Lantern world, why the smaller scale mostly works, where the mystery starts losing me, and how the finale finally made John click for me in a way he hadn’t before.I still think Hal is the stronger character, I still wish the finale gave us a much bigger Lantern power showcase, and I have some real problems with parts of John’s backstory and the way the murder mystery resolves. But the writing between Hal and John is strong enough that by the end, I genuinely wanted to see what kind of Lantern John becomes without him.#Lanterns (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/lanterns) #GreenLantern (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/greenlantern) #HalJordan (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/haljordan) #JohnStewart (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/johnstewart) #DCU (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/dcu) #TVAnalysis (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/tvanalysis)

The Salamanca Twins are the Worst Salamancas
The Salamanca Twins are supposed to be some of the most intimidating characters in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, but I’ve always thought the exact opposite. The matching suits, synchronized movements, silence, and constant “aura” make them feel more forced than threatening.
In this video, I break down why Marco and Leonel are easily my least favorite Salamancas, why characters like Tuco, Hector, and Lalo work so much better, and how Breaking Bad usually makes heightened characters feel real by grounding them in the boring, mundane reality underneath all the cool stuff.
That’s what makes the Twins stand out so much. The show gives them the image, but never enough of the person underneath it.

George Lucas Was Right to Keep Changing Star Wars
George Lucas has spent decades changing the original Star Wars trilogy, and while some of those changes absolutely made the movies worse, I still think he was right to keep revisiting them.
In this video, I go through the Special Editions, from Jabba and Hayden Christensen to Greedo shooting first, Vader’s added dialogue, Jedi Rocks, Victory Celebration, and the bigger question underneath all of it: when does improving your own work turn into replacing something audiences already loved?
Because the problem was never really that George Lucas kept changing Star Wars. It was that the original versions became harder and harder to experience alongside the ones he preferred.
