E7: On Embodiment & the Eco-System of the Revolution Part I with Mathew James
On this episode of Healing is Mutual, I connect with Mathew James — a dancer, maker, and founder of Urban Tribe: platform for movement based practices. He also just so happens to work as an administrator focused on advancement and business development at the Guggenheim museum in New York.
We start our talk reminiscing about how we met studying dance at Sacramento State University, giving an homage to our faculty and the invaluable education we received from them. We talked about how impactful it was for us each to study with professionals who embodied years of experience, and how dance has informed our own professional careers in profound ways. All of this supports our thoughts on the times, and the revolution that’s occurring. Naturally, as two Gemini dancers, we oscillate between emphasizing the importance of dialogue and finding new language to articulate the revolution, as well as deepening embodiment through experience and honoring the unnamable. Mathew expressed a deep gratitude for his experience as a graduate student, dancing side by side with legends in the dance world, and this stirs a million thoughts in my head about the value of lived experience and embodiment... this is Part I

E5: Creating Sustainable Spaces, Inside & Out with Quynh (@Quynhforthewin) & Katrina @badasshomelife
On this episode of Healing is Mutual, I have my first three-way with two amazing mercurial women: fellow Gemini and self-love coach, Quynh also known as @quynhforthewin and Leo-Virgo cusper, Katrina Green, who leans heavy towards Virgo in her work as a professional home organizer, interior stylist and owner of @badasshomelife
With lots of ideas and stories to share, we dive right in to our talk by discussing the importance of creating safe and sustainable spaces inside our minds, homes, offices, and communities... and there is a palpable
camaraderie as we open up about our roles and experiences with @femwinism an organization built on the philosophy of loving to see another woman win. Proceeds of this podcast support the femwinism grant fund that helps women and girls pursue their passion projects in art and business, as well as receiving mental health support.

E4: Full Moon Energy Update August 2020 with Evelyn aka @pioneersofourselves
In this episode, Evelyn (with special guest, baby Ember) and I navigate the intersections of the Full moon energy in Aquarius opposite Sun in Leo both at 11degrees. During our talk we circumnavigate a few concepts relating to masculinity, narcissism, embracing paradox and playing!
With both the sun and moon at 11 degrees, we are also experiencing an 11:11 portal — and with the moon in Aquarius it wouldn’t be surprising for radical messages to make their way through the veil... Messages from ancestors, angels, ascended masters, aliens and beyond.
The full moon in Aquarius feels like an invitation to Shine bright, be bold, try the radical thing, if the idea seems crazy or outlandish, try it anyway. Go for it. Re-center yourself. Be the star of your own show and dare to follow your own lead. Let’s listen this month to our own divinity, embrace our own masculinity by way of playing, probing, exploring, and letting ourselves be driven towards new frontiers.

E2: Blessings & Wisdom from Tia Ferrera, vocal artist and founder of femWINism
In this episode, I had the pleasure of chatting with the magnificent, Tia Ferrera. Among many things, she is a vocal artist and community leader. She is the founder of femWINism, a non-profit organization that thrives on the simple yet beautiful concept of loving the idea of seeing another womxn win. Tia and I first crossed paths when we both lived in LA back in 2014 — in fact, it was her brother, Chaez, who invited me to move into this house full of artists when I was on the verge of homelessness. I will never forget Tia’s humble yet persistent spirit, and the rich conversations we used to have during that time. Fast forward a few years and we meet again, back in our hometown of Sacramento, where she is spearheading an incubator for womxn to come together in sisterhood to re-create community that is built on collaboration, encouragement, and genuine passion for seeing one another succeed.
When I decided to start a podcast, Tia was the first person I called. I wanted to offer this podcast as a service to the femWINism community. I really wanted to praise Tia for her work and express my gratitude to her… instead, I was caught off guard by her candid words of encouragement for me… but this is just how Tia rolls, she has a heart of gold and pours it out generously to everyone she comes in contact with…
To learn more about femWINism, nominate a womxn in your community, or to make a donation to their grant fund, please visit www.femwinism.com and follow them on Instagram @femwinism Music outro: Tia Ferrera’s track Dirty Dancin’ off her album titled It’s Complicated.
