Podcast Overview

Healing is the New Normal is a podcast that will highlight the beautiful and challenging parts of the healing journey. I will discuss the highs and lows of my personal healing journey while bringing in others to discuss theirs. My background in trauma research, family communication, and resilience gives me the ability to share my personal experience and expertise in the subject matter of healing. As a black woman, I grew up learning to sweep things under the rug. As I began my healing journey, I realized that many people from the Black community share in this culture of silent suffering. This podcast strives to change this narrative for my community and many others. I understand that healing is hard, but it is not impossible, and it is accessible to everyone.
