112. Be not moved - Anchored when the waves rise

I recorded this last November but never published it. I guess I needed to just talk through what my nervous system was feeling.

Regardless, the message is still relevant today....maybe even more so. There's a lot going on and some, are good and even great, and there's some that makes us want to just crawl under our blanket and try to soothe ourselves.

I don't profess to know the answers to all of life's questions and concerns but I do know that there is wisdom to, "Be not moved". We can bend with the wind but we are not meant to be carried about "to and fro".

And how can we do this? Great a really, really good anchor. Even Jesus Christ. Let Him be your anchor, your rock, your foundation. Let Him do the heavy lifting.

Love,

Hyo

P.s. To learn more about Hyo North, a Trauma-informed Somatic Coach:

Email: hyonorthlifecoach@gmail.com

https://hyonorthcoaching.com/

Scheduling Link: https://hyonorthcoaching.as.me/

111. Healthy vs. Unhealthy Anger - Which one do you express? Find out!

...In reality, we have both! And that's ok. It's part of the human experience on this earth. We aren't supposed to be perfect....we're on the road of perfecting ourselves....it's a journey and not a destination. So, get fearless in finding out your anger patterns. It's going to be ok. I promise. Trust me when I say that I'm still on this journey of self-confronting my anger patters and leaning into the wisdom of what it is trying to tell me about my Self.

Healthy vs. Unhealthy Anger

Anger is a natural human emotion that serves an important purpose in our emotional landscape, but how we experience and express it makes all the difference.

Healthy anger functions as a signal that something is wrong and needs attention. It typically:

Is proportional to the situation

Motivates constructive problem-solving

Protects legitimate boundaries

Leads to appropriate assertiveness

Dissipates once addressed

Involves awareness and responsibility for the emotion

When expressed healthily, anger can strengthen relationships by communicating needs clearly and respecting others' perspectives. It often follows a pattern of recognition, regulation, and resolution.

Differentiation: Anger is like a flag - telling you that a boundary has been crossed. I could be a physical boundary, mental, emotional, or psychological - there isn’t safety. So where do you not feel safe?

- Passionate Marriage

- Guest: Jennifer Finlayson-Fife

Unhealthy anger becomes problematic when it:

Is disproportionate to the triggering event

Manifests as explosive outbursts or prolonged resentment

This leads to verbal or physical aggression

Gets suppressed entirely, turning inward

Damages relationships repeatedly

Controls the person rather than being controlled

Becomes chronic or the default emotional response

Unhealthy anger often creates a cycle where the person feels justified in their rage while causing harm to themselves and others.

Healthy anger tends to resolve issues and create positive change. Unhealthy anger typically creates more problems than it solves, damaging trust and emotional well-being.

Would you like me to explore any specific aspect of anger management in more detail?

Healthy AngerUnhealthy AngerThe Difference in Outcomes

Healthy anger tends to resolve issues and create positive change. 110. Moving through anger: An in-depth conversation with Charmaine Horn

Bio:

Charmaine Horn, BSN, RN, EFTMP-C, is a Registered Nurse, Certified Qigong (pronounced "Chee-Gong") Instructor, and Certified EFT Practitioner. After working 8 years as a psychiatric nurse, she realized that the psychiatric medications she gave to her patients rarely seemed to help improve her patients' symptoms long-term. She left her nursing job in 2020 to discover holistic healing methods that can help people heal from emotional and mental health issues. That is when she ultimately discovered Qigong, which she used to help herself heal from burnout, anxiety, and grief. Charmaine is now on a mission to help people overcome stress, anxiety, and depression with Qigong so they could live a more joyous and fulfilling life.

(For more details, check out my About Me page!)

Titles/Credentials:

Registered Nurse (Credential: BSN, RN)

Certified 200-Hour Qigong Teacher

Certified Master Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Practitioner (Credential: EFTMP-C)

Certified Tai Chi Easy Practice Leader

Certified Somatic Coach

Certified Life & Weight Loss Coach

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) 6-Week Program Completion

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) 10-Week Program Completion

Links:

Website: https://oasisqigong.com

Instagram: https://instagram.com/oasisqigong

Youtube: https://youtube.com/@oasisqigong

Online Qigong Membership: https://oasisqigong.com/join

21-Day Qigong Challenge: https://oasisqigong.com/21daychallenge

*********

To learn more about Hyo North, a Trauma-informed Somatic Life Coach:

https://hyonorthcoaching.com/

https://www.instagram.com/hyonorth_coaching/

https://www.facebook.com/hyonorthcoaching

Scheduling Link: https://hyonorthcoaching.as.me/Email: hello@oasisqigong.com

*********

To learn more about Hyo North, a Trauma-informed Somatic Life Coach:

https://hyonorthcoaching.com/

https://www.instagram.com/hyonorth_coaching/

https://www.facebook.com/hyonorthcoaching

Scheduling Link: https://hyonorthcoaching.as.me/
