Emotions, Thinking & your Immune System with Dr. Ian Weinberg
Dr. Ian Weinberg is a pioneer in PsychoNeuroImmunology (PNI), which is the understanding of how our emotions, our thinking and our immune system work together - for good or bad. Dr. Weinberg presents to us a model of understanding on left brain dominant, right brain dominant and whole brain thinkers in the context of Covid. It is enlightening, and answers the persistent question of how can people become fixed in their thought and reject new data that challenges the hypothesis they have adopted as fact. Sure to bring many aha moments to all of you! Dr. Weinberg is a practicing Neurosurgeon in Johannesburg, SA, pioneer of PNI and Founder of the Triangles Model. Unmasking the harms of masking healthy children.
Dr. Harald Walach joins us from Germany, with a previously recorded interview about the effects of masking on the level of C02 ppm of inhaled air during masking. We discuss the scientific method, the influence of society on inquiry and the disheartening state of "science". Since our discussion in February, Dr. Walach and his team continued to pursue publication of their findings. Vitamin D, Covid & Comorbidities with Dr. James Lundeen, BSc (E Eng), MSc (Chem), MD
This discussion with Dr. James Lundeen reveals some startling truths. Vitamin D is not a vitamin. 80% of the globe has levels insufficient for immune health. Most cells and organs have receptors for its active form, including our immune cells. There are a lot of barriers to us getting enough including where we live, the colour of our skin, environmental toxicities and how much time we spend indoors in our modern lifestyles. If you want to pick the lowest hanging fruit, and improve the health of you and yours - listen to what this thoughtful and informed gentleman has to say about Vitamin D. To learn more, and grow health - check out the gifts and offerings at Grow Your Health Academy. On informed decision making, covid and children
Parents face an important decision with the recent authorization of the 5-11 year old covid shots. It is the kind of decision that begs us to pause, look, and make a conscious choice from clarity. The consequences merit consideration of the whole picture, and my experience informs me that process matters, especially when it comes to undesirable outcomes. Risk is inherent in living, and this decision is about weighing the risks - like all our medical choices. While I remain wholly agnostic on your choice for your family, I strongly advocate for informed decision making and personal responsibility. I stand against shaming, bullying and coercion. Children's Super Powers in the time of Covid
Dr. Laiqua Khadri graces us with her knowledge and important message about the superpowers of children’s mucosal immune defences in the face of Covid. She gives us a lecture on the journey of the virus into the nose, mouth and upper airways and the resistance it encounters in our immune system. This discussion is filled with important knowledge, and practical information to help you take care of your mucosal health - your first line of defence against airborne pathogens. An introduction to the importance of psychoneuroimmunology, and its relevance to the reality our children are living is perhaps the highlight of this conversation for me. Children’s nervous systems and immune system are developing in synergy throughout their early years. Childhood traumas in these early years contribute to vulnerabilities to pathogens and disease later in life. It is incumbent upon all of us to become conscious of the reality we are giving permission to. Our children have unique superpowers and innate defences against this pathogen that has rocked our world. Without long term data, and a deeper understanding of how mRNA technology is augmenting the immune system, good or bad - we are rolling the dice. Risk of severe covid is exceedingly low in our young and healthy, so our tolerance for harm in the proposed solution should zero. Parents are facing an important decision, and it is important to be informed and make decisions from clarity, not fear. Everyone is suffering in this covid era - in different ways, at different times. My aim is to be a messenger of peace, love and knowledge that empowers to you claim your innate health and nurture it. It is better to have questions that can't be answered, than answers that can't be questioned. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy (https://acast.com/privacy) for more information.

The Many Faces of Covid
On todays episode, I bring you a guest that has recently experienced Covid, along with 20 of her family and friends. She shares with us the symptoms and realities, organized by age. Covid has many faces which is largely depending on age, health and nutritional status. For those that are at higher risk of severe covid, knowing how to respond, when to respond and what it looks like when you need help is critical information. As everyone moves inside for the fall, and with delta's insistence on meeting everyone it can, we need to be empowered with information. There are several protocols for prevention and early home treatment that have been developed by various groups around the globe. I am including links to these resources here, for your education. Some of the suggestions will not be available to everyone, depending on your geography. While this information is very helpful to understand your options and how to add nutritional supplements to your diet to support you with covid (and other viruses), it is wise and advisable to seek specific guidance for your personal circumstance from your health care provider. This information is not a substitution for personalized advice from a licensed professional. I cannot stress enough the importance of good hydration, good nutrition, ensuring your vitamin D status is sufficient, and getting enough rest. Early response is the key to improving outcomes, ensuring you are moving, breathing and drinking warm liquids. Steaming over hot water helps keep your mucosal membranes of your nose, mouth and throat at their best - and these are your first line of defence. I will dedicate an entire episode to this topic soon. C19 Protocols (https://c19protocols.com) Front Line Covid Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC) (https://covid19criticalcare.com/) Wishing you all health and hugs for this fall. Hosted on Acast. Love in the time of Covid
In what was a synergistic and accelerated process, a group of mamma bears in Invermere, BC were called to action. With love and community well being in mind, these women are here to share perspectives, information and many many questions. The issue is one of ethics. The topic, well covid. We might be over covid, but it isn't over us. It is also a time, when we should be asking ethical questions. We are living in a time of mandates, division, hostility and good people fighting with good people about who is 'right'. Dr. Julie Ponesse, Ethics Professor at University of Western Ontario gave us a lesson in ethics to remember. If you haven't seen this, it is a very powerful 5 minutes. (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiMsuqevI7zAhW1CTQIHVYoCM4QwqsBegQIBxAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DX0UpeUJEhMo&usg=AOvVaw21eIGJk397uFhU5rB-CkJT) Sean Avery former NHL player, teams up with Dr. Byram Bridle University of Guelph to discuss the implications of mandates in minor hockey, and the risks associated with it. It is a very important conversation, and one that added inspiration this podcast. No Gruffs Given, Courage couldn't come at a worse time (https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/no-gruffs-given-with-sean-avery/id1491833651). In some provinces in Canada, children as young as 12 are being given the responsibility to offer mature minor consent (MMC) for covid shots, and through the Infant Act parents do not need to be notified of this action. With the introduction of covid shot clinics at elementary schools, it seems very appropriate to question the ethics behind the application of MMC in this circumstance. It is certainly unprecedented, but is it warranted? While this episode will invariably trigger emotions, we believe it is a conversation we should be having. So, we are getting it started. With balance, peace and love. Julie Brown, Shilo Cameron, Gwyn Robinson, Lisa and MP. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy (https://acast.com/privacy) for more information.

A point of reflection
Today, a point of reflection. An exercise to entertain. For me, the watershed issue of our time is not vaccine status. It is ethics. Personal freedom is not the same as personal responsibility - and I believe in both. We are being called to show up with health, but there are many ways to do this - not one. The ethical watershed moment could not be painted better than it was earlier this week by Dr. Julie Ponesse, PhD in Ethics and a 20 year professor in Ethics at the University of Western Ontario (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqHfx5SGaWE). If for some reason that link doesn't work, you can find her on youtube by searching her name and university. Be curious. Inquire. Learn. Collective health starts with your health. Hosted on Acast. A Commentary on Unity & Division
A philosopher's look at where health lives in relation to unity and division. Ironically, I recorded this 8 weeks ago - before the recent crescendo of division has peaked in the hostile terrain of vaccination status and mandates. Regardless, the message holds true. Love is the only antidote, and we all need to do our own work to achieve peace, so we can show up with it and make a positive contribution to collective health. We have enormous power to shift ideology, and build a healthier world. We have the same power to choose anger and bring the collective frequency and well being down with it. My choice is made. Love to you all. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy (https://acast.com/privacy) for more information.

Between you and me and everything else
Between you and me, and everything else lives our innate immune system. A brief history of Louis Pasteur & Antoine Beschamps and the spectrum of germ theory to terrain theory. An intro to the barrier tissues that filter what is of us from what is not. It provides a boundary, protection and discernment. Today we take a look at it from multiple perspectives, including philosophy (of course). Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy (https://acast.com/privacy) for more information.

Perspective Matters. A look - see at Osteopathy.
Feeling a bit vulnerable seems to be par for the course when we do something new. This podcast has been no exception, and as always Brene Brown has just the write quote to capture it. As I leaped into the unknown to bring this project to life, I was 'caught' by so many wonderful humans who appreciate what I am doing, and why I am doing it. Thank you, you know who you are. In this episode we take a closer look at perspective, bias and data sets with the intention of understanding how knowledge comes to be. I share more about my education, research interests and the experiences that led to my understanding of health. A peek into the philosophy, art and science of Osteopathy brings a deeper understanding to the fundamental principles that guide me in my practice, and my life. As learning curves would have it, I had my mic on the wrong setting - but the content flowed and I'm going with it. If you wonder why the sound is a little different, thats why. Hosted on Acast.
