<p>There have been many critiques of the U.S. response to the pandemic. Most show that we aren't doing very well. We are currently number one in the world for number of new cases and deaths reported in the last 24 hours (WHO Coronavirus Disease Dashboard, https://covid19.who.int/table) and it doesn't look like things will get better anytime soon. </p> <p>In this episode, Kristine and Radhika explore whether we could do better under a single-payer, universal, not-for-profit health care system. With a system like this, we could have a more coordinated approach and everyone's health care would be covered. There would be no reason for people not to get tested or seek care.</p> <p><strong>There are 2 bills in congress right now that could give the American people this level of care under the Health Care Emergency Guarantee Act. Kristine and Radhika tell you about Push to Pass: The Health Care Emergency Guarantee Act campaign that's launching on Monday, November 30th at 6:30 pm (MT/UTC-7) on Zoom. This campaign educates and encourages everyone to contact their legislator to support and pass these bills.
