[…] How common are urinary tract infections and who tends to be most at risk? Women tend to get urinary tract infections more than men. Men get them too, but of all urinary tract infections in the US, about 10% happen in men, so 90% happen in women. And there are different incidences or prevalence according to age. About one in three women by the age of 24 will have a urinary tract infection. But overall, if you look at all women in the US of all ages, you have about a 60% chance of having a UTI throughout your lifetime. Why are women more prone to them than men? It's anatomic.
