Why Your Med Spa's Temps Need HIPAA Training Too | Client Alert

This is an important advisory for all practice owners and administrators: if you run a med spa, you are likely a HIPAA-covered entity, and your current employee training program might be an active federal violation.

The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) can fine your organization simply for failing to train your staff, even if no patient data is ever improperly disclosed. "The AI Did It" Is Not a Valid Defense for Healthcare Fraud | Client Alert

It systemizes the mistake, repeating a bad pattern across thousands of claims. That aggregate liability adds up incredibly fast, and telling federal investigators that the software generated the error is not a valid legal defense. Furthermore, every AI vendor that touches your protected health information needs a strict Business Associate Agreement barring them from training their models on your patients' data without explicit consent.

Listen in to understand this emerging liability and learn exactly why you must put a human in the loop on every claim and aggressively audit your vendor contracts before the AI ever sees a medical record.

For more health law updates, visit texashealthlaw.com.
