18. intentional thinking (focus)
In this episode I discuss the detriment of too much thinking. Thinking requires ENERGY and we must become conscious of our thinking to live a more intentional life. Maintaining the balance between exploring recurring thoughts and letting go of the ones that no longer serve you is crucial. When we can set up the space for us to be intentional thinkers, this allows us to truly focus and block out the noise of the world and our own mind.

17. breaking the habit of self-neglect
In this episode, I describe my recent experiences around self-neglect. Comfort keeps us in routines of life that no longer serve us, keep us stagnant, and as the oddball effect suggests, make time go faster. I highlight the importance of switching things up and prioritizing novelty and growth. Self-neglect often takes us away from the present moment and our truest selves. We must take responsibility for our inner state, as it reflects everything else. And importantly, forgive and love ourselves in the process.

16. inner child healing
In this episode, I discuss what inner child healing entails. Our society often overvalues work, disconnecting us from our feelings and the present moment. I reflect on how this happened to me and how mind-spiraling this can be. Ultimately, it is important for us to prioritize our beliefs and the person we are at our core - our inner child. Reconnecting with certain activities and feelings of safety and freedom can be very helpful. Letting go of the end result and taking things day by day, doing what we love, and trusting it will all work out - because it always does!

15. people pleasing
In this episode, I dive into people pleasing and my own experiences with it. People pleasing is often connected to low self-esteem and the act of people pleasing rejects our authentic selves. People pleasing can in many ways fuel the insecurities of others and the self. On the extreme end, people pleasing can result in a loss of self, a feeling of confusion when it comes to one's personal opinions, interests, and values. Breaking out of this way of being requires one to express themselves authentically, knowing that the people meant in your life will accept you fully as you are. It is important to detach, trust the natural flow of life and listen to your own inner truth.

14. staying open-minded
In this episode, I explore the idea of staying open-minded and seeing life in its entirety. It can be easy to fall into structured, black-and-white thinking that limits us from the possibilities around us. I discuss stepping into discomfort in order to foster a greater balance in life and feel a sense of wholeness. We must be open-minded while continuing to be authentic to ourselves, not getting lost in choice paralysis but staying curious. Here are some helpful links: https://linktr.ee/healthyhealingpodcast

13. the truth about healing
In this episode, I explain the importance of taking little steps in the healing process and life itself. Taking little steps and appreciating the journey. We must approach our goals from a spot of compassion, so that we can appreciate each step of life and extend our progress. It is important to recognize and appreciate each thing you do as an essential part of the process and understand that it will create a ripple effect for others to feel. 12. people don't belong in boxes
In this episode, I discuss how putting labels on people can be harmful. In doing so, we are judging them without being open to the potential to actually see every part of them and who they truly are. In life we do this as well, making our life out to be a certain thing that ends up limiting the possibilities of what it could be and closes us off from the beauty of change and openness. 11. stop assuming, start living
In this episode, I elaborate on how assuming can be harmful. Often assumptions underlie our fears and anxieties, impacting how we think and act. It is important to open up to the millions of possibilities within the Universe, instead of fixating on what we "think" might happen. Once we can generate positive attitudes, this allows us to be open to all life has to bring and cultivate presence. 10. acting with compassion
In this episode, I explain the true meaning of compassion which includes both empathy for another person as well as acting on those feelings and showing the people around you that you appreciate them. To act with compassion, you must first check in with yourself and treat yourself with compassion. I also discuss some realizations about what the ego is and how at the end of the day all we need is love. Instead of expecting to be happy, we must take consistent action that we know will make us happy. 9. life is easy? connecting with inner knowledge
In this episode, I explain how life can actually be easier than we think it is when we connect to our inner knowledge and truth. By stripping away the noise and the social pressures of the outside world, we find that being connected with our authentic selves leads to lasting happiness. Staying consistent in prioritizing peace and being willing to put in the effort to unlearn the ideologies that we are brought up to abide by, helps us to live a life for us and get away from the brain fog. 8. "good" and "bad" are overrated
In this episode, I explain how one’s attachment to what is labeled as “good” and “bad” can be detrimental. When we fixate on these polarities we disconnect from the present and our ability to accept simply “what is” right here and right now. Accepting that both bad and good things happen allows one to live with a sense of freedom and the ability to tackle anything life can throw at someone. 7. letting go and being present
Hi everyone! As you can tell, I took a long and much needed break, but I am back and better than ever. Even more exciting… I have decided to branch out and make my podcasts into video format! In this episode, I discuss the importance of letting go and being present in your life. Goals and dreams are fabulous, but it’s easy for us to get lost in them and in turn, feel that we aren’t enough now, in the present moment, as we are. These realizations have allowed me to live my life in a way where I feel I am slowing down and actually enjoying things, instead of trying to rush to succeed or become something way outside of myself. The truth is you have everything you need within you right now! Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did. 6. nature and nurture (w/ april bleske-rechek)
In this episode, I interview a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, April Bleske-Rechek. April shares her story of going to college and graduate school, eventually ending up in Eau Claire. We discuss her interests in evolutionary psychology and twin studies. Throughout the interview, we talk about the importance of nature and nurture, sex differences in relationships, and other fascinating topics relating to evolutionary psychology. We both comment on how everything eventually works out and humans have their own unique passions, interests, and meanings within life. 5. committing to yourself
In this episode, I talk about the importance of committing to yourself, your goals, and your own happiness. In order for us to obtain lasting happiness, there is a level of sacrifice that is involved. Happy people are not lazy people! I think we all have an idea of what we should do in order to help ourselves, but the act of actually initiating it or going for it becomes the difficult part. The things that help us to be happy (acts of kindness, showing gratitude, physical health, learning how to cope, etc.) are things that are not surprising, but committing to them is essential. Challenging and disciplining ourselves to be consistent and not fall for instant gratifications over long term happiness is important. We need to listen to ourselves and what we intuitively know is best for us and then commit to it! 4. law of detachment (w/ mackenzie)
In this episode, Mackenzie and I discuss the law of detachment and offer tips on how to implement it into your daily life. We cover the dangers of assuming and fixating on unrealistic expectations. When you begin to detach yourself from outcomes and results, you will start to enjoy the journey of life and take each moment as a gift. Living in the present is a useful tool when learning to understand the magic behind detachment. We also talk about how you have no control over others, and how you only have power over yourself and your reactions. Learning to separate yourself from others and valuing the control you do have is essential to living a fulfilling life. We hope that this episode can bring some clarity and knowledge regarding the law of detachment! 3. honesty & authenticity
In this episode, I explain the importance of honesty. Honesty is an important value. Being honest with ourselves and others helps to foster better relationships. In addition, being honest with who we are helps us to be the most authentic versions of ourselves and stray away from the idea of putting up an ideal version of ourselves for the world to see. Understanding that everyone has flaws is an important step in owning your own authenticity and being yourself 100%. It is essential to understand that everyone struggles, and we must acknowledge our struggles and be open to others about our vulnerabilities in order to truly connect with people. Anyone who cannot accept you fully does not deserve to be in your life. Taking accountability for your actions is an aspect of honesty that is necessary to grow. Playing the victim is an easy tactic that should usually be avoided. We need to own up to who we are and then we will be able to live more freely while be surrounded by people who truly care about us. 2. how thoughts manifest
In this episode, I explain the process behind why our thoughts manifest. I start by sharing a few stories that demonstrate the power our minds have over our physical reality. We have the conscious choice to disidentify from our negative thoughts once we separate ourselves from them. I provide some examples and tools from my own life that have helped me to reprogram my subconscious mind in order to create a better reality for myself. I hope my experiences and examples can help you apply this knowledge into your own life!
