Hosts Aileen Kirk and Nicole Madden love combing through works of fiction, picking out their favorite characters and plopping them into reimagined scenarios and hypothetical situations. Utilizing games, Would You Rather quizzes and a healthy amount of conjecture, Aileen and Nicole dig deep into the subject du jour, unearthing a new appreciation for every single hottie with a body. So buckle up, grab a snack and get ready because on Hear Me Out, all your fictional faves are fair game.
33 - Don't Dream It, Be It - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), Clue (1985)
Welcome to the floor show! Whether you feel like a wild and untamed thing or see yourself as a more subdued Colonel Mustard type, this episode has something for everyone: music, comedy, glitter, communism (it’s just a red herring), monkey brains, human brains, butlers, maids, time warps, secret passageways and Tim Curry Tim Curry Tim Curry!! Ooh and curry popcorn!
On this dark and stormy night, Aileen & Nicole find themselves on the steps of one very creepy mansion to celebrate the life and work of the late, great Timothy James Curry with lively discussions of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Clue. Hear about some of the behind the scenes shenanigans, as well as how the films changed the course of film history ⚡FOREVER⚡Plus the usual games and activities fit for the attendants of the Annual Transylvania Convention. Things might get loopy due to lack of sleep and failing health so who knows, there might even be some forgotten gems yet to be uncovered. Listen up, Janet!
Coming up on Hear Me Out: Our guest hosting spot on Fun With Horror will be released in mid to late October, keep an eye out for links to that. The next episode on our feed is veryyy special - do not miss or you will regret!!! And finally, we love you.

32 - Dolly, A True Diamond Among Rhinestones - 9 to 5 (1980), The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982)
As Dolly Parton once said, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose, with purpose” and over the course of this week’s episode it becomes 100% obvious that Dolly was a self-assured, intelligent woman of her word.
Join Aileen & Nicole as they have a rootin’ tootin’ boot scootin’ good time celebrating the life and work of the beloved legend of sight and sound, Miss Dolly Rebecca Parton. They cover two of her early acting roles, Doralee in 9 to 5 and Miss Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and get down to the nitty gritty of what it means to be a working woman in a variety of environments. They not only found links between the movies featured but some revelatory connections to past discussions. Pretty darn cool!
Of course, there are new games and activities that highlight Dolly’s genuinely good heart, plus the usual opening check-in and ending Blimpets so stay tuned in to hear all about everyone’s favorite things of the week.
And finally, in Big Announcement territory - Hear Me Out will be guesting on our best pod pal’s show, Fun With Horror!! The episode is being recorded as you read this (!) and the drop date should be announced by the time HMO’s Tim Curry tribute episode is released in two weeks. How exciting!!

31 - One Year of HMO! Happy Birthday to Us!!
Have you enjoyed the last year of Hear Me Out! as much as Hear Me Out! has enjoyed bringing you the last year?? Hope so because this episode is nothing short of a disco dance party celebrating the joy and growth the podcast has experienced over the last 12 months. Aileen and Nicole completely abandon all of the show’s traditional formats to make room for a supercut of lol-inducing cut-ups, a slew of embarrassing linguistic stats and enough pop quizzes to make your head spin. And then. There was this cake. You will want to hear about the cake. There might also be a very exciting announcement tucked away somewhere in there so, basically, grab all the cats and all the snacks and listennn!
Thank you endlessly to everyone that has tuned in and shared the show. We’re not kidding when we say this is our favorite thing in the entire world (sorry, families!). Here’s to many more years and many more friends! We love you! Bye buh-bye bye!
