Instead of ending the year with goals or strategies, they reflect on growth, gratitude, bravery, and family life through the lens of a child, offering a powerful reminder of what truly matters. The episode opens with playful banter and excitement as Milani joins the podcast for the very first time. As the conversation unfolds, listeners get a rare glimpse into how a child experiences growth, opportunity, and kindness. When asked what she’s most thankful for this year, Milani shares simple yet profound answers: having a life, having a family, and having opportunities to help others. From paying for coffee in the drive-thru to quiet acts of generosity at restaurants, she clearly understands that kindness creates ripple effects far beyond the moment. The episode wraps with lighthearted rapid-fire questions, laughter, and heartfelt reflections about family time. Milani shares how much she loves having her parents home more often and how it’s changed their daily life together. The final moments leave listeners with a powerful message: success isn’t just business wins or milestones. It’s raising kind, brave humans, creating space for growth, and ending the year with gratitude. #HeartAndHustlePodcast #familypodcast #parentingpodcast #yearendreview #gratitude #familyvalues #raisingkids #consciousparenting #intentionalparenting #raisingconfidentkids #kindnessmatters #familytime #legacybuilding #growthmindset #bravery #childhooddevelopment #parenthood #momlife #dadlife #familyfirst #givingback #payitforward #childrensvoices #kidswisdom #parentingjourney #raisingleaders #mindfulparenting #gentleparenting #educationmatters #alternativeeducation #homelife #qualitytime #endofyearreflection #holidayseason #christmasvibes #gratitudemindset #lifelessons #podcastclips #youtubecreator #podcastlife #heartandhustle #familybusiness #parentinginspiration #nextgeneration #raisingkindhumans #joyfulparenting #reflectionseason #growthjourney

Episode 17: Regulating Your Nervous System
Welcome to another episode of Heart & Hustle! Follow us for more and let us know where you found us!! They break down why emotional regulation isn’t just a “nice to have” personal development topic, but a core skill that affects your business decisions, your marriage, your parenting, and your long-term legacy. Parenting, Business, and The Ripple EffectThey bring it into parenting with a real example involving their daughter, Milani. They intentionally raise her in an environment where questions are celebrated, which naturally creates moments of frustration. The key lesson: if you don’t regulate your emotions, your child doesn’t just experience your mood, they may internalize it and create meaning from it later. The conversation expands into the bigger why. The emotional environment you create as a parent influences what your children see as “normal,” what relationships they feel safe in, and what they tolerate later in life. Practical Emotional Regulation Tools You Can Use TodayThe episode closes with real tools you can apply immediately: don’t make permanent decisions from temporary states, name the emotion you’re feeling, separate facts from the story you’re creating, and ask how your future self would respond. They also encourage listeners to comment and write out real-life examples, because turning passive listening into active reflection builds the muscle faster. #HeartAndHustlePodcast #emotionalregulation #nervoussystem #nervoussystemregulation #emotionalintelligence #mindset #mindsetshift #personaldevelopment #selfgrowth #healingjourney #innerwork #traumahealing #fightorflight #stressmanagement #emotionalhealing #selfawareness #mentalhealth #anxietytools #parenting #parentingtips #consciousparenting #gentleparenting #marriage #relationshiptips #communicationskills #conflictresolution #entrepreneurmindset #businessowner #highperformer #leadershipdevelopment #emotionalmastery #selfregulation #resilience #habits #selfimprovement #growthmindset #boundaries #mindfulness #nervoussystemhealing #calmyourmind #highachievers #momlife #dadlife #familylife #legacybuilding #healinggenerationaltrauma #emotionalwellness #podcastclips #youtubecreator #podcast

Episode 16: Your “Flaws” Are Actually Your Superpowers
Welcome to another episode of Heart & Hustle! Follow us for more and let us know where you found us!! Tati: • IG - @tationathomas (https://www.instagram.com/tationathomas?igsh=em5jcmFncmU2Nzdt&utm_source=qr) • TikTok - @tati_thomas (https://www.tiktok.com/@tati_thomas?_t=ZT-90BgxtxWsqD&_r=1) Travis: • IG - @timefortravis (https://www.instagram.com/timefortravis?igsh=cWQyaXl6bG02Y214&utm_source=qr) • TikTok - @thejuicebeloose (https://www.tiktok.com/@thejuicebeloose) YouTube: LINK (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TNv8jHShMU) 🔑 Key Takeaways For Listeners ✅ our “flaws” are often just traits that haven’t been pointed at the right thing yet. ✅ Society, school, and even family often label your natural wiring as “too much” or “wrong.” ✅ Being multi-passionate / a multipotentialite is a real thing and it’s needed in the world. ✅ Idea synthesis (connecting dots between different fields) is a superpower. ✅ Rapid learning and going deep on topics quickly is a strength, not a problem. ✅ Adaptability and pivoting often are powerful tools when used intentionally. ✅ Skepticism and asking better questions can protect you and your family (ex: medical decisions). ✅ Procrastination can be a superpower when paired with high standards and focused execution. ✅ You can be “last minute” and produce excellent, high-quality work. ✅ Your past (childhood, school experiences, postpartum depression) can become leverage, not a life sentence. ✅ Addictive tendencies can be channeled into positive obsessions like health, business, and growth. ✅ Your love language (like gift giving) can drive impact, generosity, and ripple effects of kindness. ✅ Who you follow and listen to online deeply affects how you see yourself and your “flaws.” ✅ You get to decide: will your traits chain you down or become your cape? Flaws vs. Superpowers: You Were Built This Way On Purpose In this episode of the Heart and Hustle Podcast, Tati and Travis sit down on their anniversary to unpack a powerful reframe: what if your biggest flaws are actually your greatest superpowers? From procrastination and skepticism to being multi-passionate, deeply emotional, or “too much,” they break down how these traits have shaped their lives, their parenting, and their businesses. The Power Of Asking Questions, Procrastinating, and Doing It Your Way Travis then shares how his so-called “flaw” of skepticism has protected their family – especially in medical settings with their daughter. His instinct to question data, ask where statistics come from, and challenge generic answers has turned into a powerful form of advocacy. The couple also dive into procrastination and perfectionism. Both grew up labeled as procrastinators, always “waiting until the last minute.” But they explain how years of pulling off high-quality work under pressure actually trained them to execute at a high level in short timeframes. Travis tells the legendary story of his senior project: a year-long assignment he barely touched, outsourced the paper, saw the presentation for the first time the day he delivered it… and still got a 97. The real superpower? Being able to think on his feet, present confidently, and synthesize ideas in real time. Turning Addictions, Habits, and Love Languages Into SuperpowersThe episode ends with a reminder: you are not broken. Your traits, quirks, and so-called flaws were placed in you on purpose. #HeartAndHustlePodcast #podcast #selfgrowth #personaldevelopment #mindsetshift #flawsandsuperpowers #multipotentialite #multipassionate #selfacceptance #selflovejourney #innerwork #healingjourney #childhoodwounds #highachievers #entrepreneurmindset #businessowners #marriedentrepreneurs #growthmindset #confidencebuilding #mentalhealth #postpartumjourney #giftgiving #lovelanguage #procrastination #perfectionism #productivity #adaptability #rapidlearning #identityshift #selfawareness #universallaws #lawofattraction #kindnessmatters #payitforward #bethechange #motivation #inspiration #mindfulness #positivity #selfworth #valuemyself #peoplepleaserrecovery #boundaries #momlife #dadswhocare #relationshipgoals #personalgrowthjourney #podcastclips #spotifypodcast

Episode 15: Overstimulation Season: Cheer, Kids, Business & Minimal Free Time
Welcome to another episode of Heart & Hustle! Follow us for more and let us know where you found us!! Tati: • IG - @tationathomas (https://www.instagram.com/tationathomas?igsh=em5jcmFncmU2Nzdt&utm_source=qr) • TikTok - @tati_thomas (https://www.tiktok.com/@tati_thomas?_t=ZT-90BgxtxWsqD&_r=1) Travis: • IG - @timefortravis (https://www.instagram.com/timefortravis?igsh=cWQyaXl6bG02Y214&utm_source=qr) • TikTok - @thejuicebeloose (https://www.tiktok.com/@thejuicebeloose) YouTube: LINK (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwFoLYvVqWg&list=PLD-v7tKEC50---T1ZId5_Rhp80_kHY4K4&index=1) 🔑 Key Takeaways For Listeners ✅ Overstimulation isn’t the enemy – it’s your nervous system trying to protect you. What you do with it is what matters. ✅ You can be in a season where everything is a non-negotiable and still choose to grow your capacity instead of dropping your standards. ✅ Role-switching is draining – parent, coach, entrepreneur, creator – but getting intentional about when you wear each hat helps. ✅ Procrastination can be a superpower when you’ve built the skill of locking in and executing at a high level under pressure. ✅ Intentionally taking on “too much” can be a muscle-building season, so future problems feel lighter and easier to handle. ✅ You can be overstimulated and still choose gratitude, perspective, and fun, instead of letting frustration run the show. In this episode of the Heart and Hustle Podcast, Tati and Travis get real about what they’re calling “overstimulation season” – that intense chapter of life where everything hits at once and quitting would be the easiest option… but not the one they’re choosing. They break down what it’s really like to be entrepreneur parents who: • Just stepped away from a brick-and-mortar business • They are coaching a competitive cheer team with 16 little girls • They are raising a first-grader • They are both in masterminds building coaching and personal brands • They are still running other businesses and showing up as content creatorsInstead of preaching “do less” or “take everything off your plate,” • They share a different perspective: sometimes you’re in a season where everything on your plate is a non-negotiable. The point isn’t to escape it. The point is to grow your capacity so you can hold more without breaking. Tati talks about the mental load of constantly switching roles: coach, mom, wife, creator, CEO. Travis shares how he processes overstimulation more internally and what it looks like when he locks in and gets things done under pressure. Together, they unpack the difference between being maxed out and being mentally defeated – and why they refuse to choose the second one. If you’re a high-achieving parent, entrepreneur, or creative who feels like life is loud, your schedule is packed, and your nervous system is screaming… this episode will help you feel seen, grounded, and a lot less “crazy.” You’re not broken. You’re in a capacity-building season. The only real question is: What are you going to do about it? #heartandhustlepodcast (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/heartandhustlepodcast) #overstimulation (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/overstimulation) #overwhelmedentrepreneur (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/overwhelmedentrepreneur) #mompreneur (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/mompreneur) #dadpreneur (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/dadpreneur) #entrepreneurparents (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/entrepreneurparents) #cheercoachlife (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/cheercoachlife) #busyseason (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/busyseason) #capacitybuilding (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/capacitybuilding) #highachiever (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/highachiever) #nervoussystemregulation (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/nervoussystemregulation) #mindsetshift (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/mindsetshift) #personaldevelopment (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/personaldevelopment) #selfgrowth (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/selfgrowth) #growthseason (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/growthseason) #familypodcast (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/familypodcast) #couplepodcast (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/couplepodcast) #marriedentrepreneurs (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/marriedentrepreneurs) #parentingandbusiness (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/parentingandbusiness) #workingparents (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/workingparents) #overwhelmedbutgrateful (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/overwhelmedbutgrateful) #buildyourcapacity (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/buildyourcapacity) #1percentmindset (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/1percentmindset) #goalgetters (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/goalgetters) #highperformancehabits (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/highperformancehabits) #onlinebusiness (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/onlinebusiness) #contentcreators (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/contentcreators) #familybusiness (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/familybusiness) #cheerfamily (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/cheerfamily)

14: Business Owners Adjusting to a New Life
Welcome to another episode of Heart & Hustle! Follow us for more and let us know where you found us!! Tati: • IG - @tationathomas (https://www.instagram.com/tationathomas?igsh=em5jcmFncmU2Nzdt&utm_source=qr) • TikTok - @tati_thomas (https://www.tiktok.com/@tati_thomas?_t=ZT-90BgxtxWsqD&_r=1) Travis: • IG - @timefortravis (https://www.instagram.com/timefortravis?igsh=cWQyaXl6bG02Y214&utm_source=qr) • TikTok - @thejuicebeloose (https://www.tiktok.com/@thejuicebeloose) YouTube: LINK (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwFoLYvVqWg&list=PLD-v7tKEC50---T1ZId5_Rhp80_kHY4K4&index=1) 🔑 Key Takeaways For Listeners ✅ Leaving a successful brick-and-mortar does not magically create ease. It creates a brand new set of problems that require just as much intentional leadership. ✅ Opposite wiring is not a relationship flaw. It is a logistics puzzle. Morning and night routines have to be designed around each person’s natural rhythm, not forced into one template. ✅ You can have more free time and still have zero true alone time. Those are different problems and they need different solutions. ✅ When you walk away from a business, you also walk away from built-in community. You have to intentionally rebuild social circles, proximity, and mastermind-style relationships. ✅ Volunteering and “side roles” like coaching can quietly eat up your emotional and creative capacity, even when you love them. That load needs to be acknowledged, not minimized. ✅ Seasons matter. After years of grinding 60+ hours a week, there has to be space for rest, recalibration, and family-first living without shame. ✅ If you do not learn how to have fun in the process, your success will feel hollow when you finally get there. Fun is not a reward at the end. It is a discipline inside the journey. In this episode of the Heart & Hustle Podcast, “We Left Our Shop… Here’s What No One Tells You After,” Tati and Travis get brutally honest about what life actually looked like once they stepped away from their brick-and-mortar card shop to be home as a family. On paper, it was the goal. More time with their daughter, no more 10-hour days at the shop, freedom to build brands they love and create their own schedule. In real life, it came with a lot of unexpected adjustments that no one really prepares you for. They break down: • What happens when a “sleep princess” marries a “once I’m up, I’m up” entrepreneur • The clash between night-owl creativity and a brain that needs to shut off by 10 p.m. • How it feels to go from built-in community at a busy store to “it’s just us and cheer” • The difference between having more free time vs actually having alone time • Why cheer coaching, parenting, and a high-energy puppy quietly drain way more emotional bandwidth than they expected • The internal guilt of taking time for yourself as a mom, dad, and married business owners • Travis’ 13 years of 60+ hour weeks and why he decided to “live life young” instead of waiting until retirement • Tati’s real-time confession that she needs to learn how to have fun again in this new seasonIf you are a married entrepreneur, a parent who wants to be more present at home, or someone who has ever dreamed of walking away from your job or business to design a life-first lifestyle, this conversation will hit home. Tati and Travis talk through morning routines, night routines, work life balance, identity, and what it takes to truly rewire how you operate once the old structure is gone. This is not a highlight reel episode. It is a behind-the-scenes look at the messy middle. The part where you got what you asked for, you are grateful for it, and you are still figuring out how to feel like your best self inside it. You will walk away with language for what you might be feeling in your own transition, permission to admit the hard parts out loud, and a reminder that these are not problems to “fix” overnight. They are new muscles to build as you become the person who can actually hold the life you say you want. If you love honest conversations about relationships, parenting, entrepreneurship, and personal growth, hit play, subscribe to the show, and share this episode with a friend who is in their own “life after” season.

If you love personal development, honest conversations, and couples who keep it real, this episode is your new favorite. Today we’re jumping into Pet Peeves Part 2, and yes — it’s hilarious, chaotic, and unexpectedly deep… again. This episode was supposed to be serious. It didn’t happen. We woke up triggered by a handful of small annoyances, and instead of stuffing it down, we did what we do best: turned it into a conversation that reveals way more about identity, standards, self-awareness, and healthy relationships than you’d expect. #petpeeves #personalstandards #highstandards #mindsetshift #relationshipgoals #couplespodcast #selfawareness #healthyrelationships #presenceoverperfection #growthmindset #emotionalintelligence #communicationtips #selfrespect #marriagepodcast #couplegoals #familyvalues #phonesoff #distractionfree #respectothers #etiquette #socialawareness #adulting #mindfulhabits #selfimprovement #consciousliving #boundaries #chooseyourcircle #highvibesonly #selfleadership #identitydesign #relationshipstandards #noexcuses #dependability #trustworthiness #courtesymatters #customerexperience #publicetiquette #driversmindset #turnsignals #grammarcounts #responsibility #servicestandard #familyfirst #kidsandphones #worklifebalance #unpluggedlife #digitaldetox #smokingoutside #respectourspace #behaviormatters #actionsoverwords #heartandhustlepodcast

PET PEEVES!!! After noting the milestone of cruising beyond 10 episodes, Tati and Travis frame a playful, but honest, look at the everyday behaviors that quietly drain time, energy, and respect in relationships and life. Travis opens with a heater: being late to the plans you set. For him, punctuality isn’t perfectionism; it’s character and respect, especially when kids are in the mix. Tati pairs that with a broader principle—stop getting mad at things that don’t require anger. From needless road-rage to manufacturing drama, she refuses to “cosign” other people’s spirals and saves her limited daily “cares” for what actually matters. Next, Tati goes in on a cultural script: women watering themselves down to seem cuter, smaller, or “out of the loop.” She rejects playing dumb and the glamorization of being “so old” at 30. The point isn’t judgment; it’s identity. If you’re built for big impact, living tiny will always feel wrong. Travis counters with something practical and revealing—permanently dead phones. Not as a tech gripe, but as a readiness signal: poor battery is often poor planning and scattered attention. Tati’s third peeve is people who complain with zero desire for a solution. Venting is valid when consented to; stewing is a choice. Bring a problem, bring willingness. Travis models what that looks like by labeling a personal trigger, lights left on, as a “me thing” he owns without making it everyone else’s burden. That rolls into his “getting out of the house” pain point and a practical strategy: he waits to get ready until the longer-prep people are truly ready. Tati’s fourth: advice from non-practitioners (money tips from the broke; relationship tips from chaos). Her fifth is delightfully specific: aggressive gum chewing in social settings. Travis closes with a service-industry PSA: Servers should say what’s 86’d upfront and don’t stealth-swap Sprite for Starry. Guests will choose differently when informed, and everyone wins.

In this raw, funny, and deeply human episode of Heart & Hustle, Tati sits down with her husband and co-host Travis to unpack the story he’s avoided telling for years. Travis explains why he used to keep his life off the internet before opening up about the man he calls his true dad, the father who taught him practical skills and presence between long stints on the road. At 19, Travis’ world split open: his dad died in a car accident, and overnight he became the steady adult for a grieving mother and two young nieces. The conversation explores money chaos at home, alcoholism, and the quiet decisions a teenager makes to become the grown-up in the room. You’ll hear how estrangement from extended family shaped his values and why he rejected the “that’s just how our family is” script. Travis talks about discovering chosen family, what a healthy holiday felt like for the first time, and how that vision now drives his own parenting. He then walks through launching a brick-and-mortar collectibles shop with his brother, learning business in real time, and the $400 pricing mistake that forged his operating standards. From there, Travis breaks down his signature edge-owner-level customer service-and shares the most outrageous insults he’s swallowed with a grin. Tati and Travis fast-forward to meeting through a local restaurateur they both considered a mentor, moving in quickly with intention, and becoming parents. The episode dives into why they chose stay-at-home parenting, how side hustles buffered that choice, and the way COVID forced them to re-evaluate time, priorities, and business models. Travis explains stepping away from daily retail operations, tightening SOPs, collaborating respectfully with his brother, and building modern, location-flexible brands that don’t require him on the sales floor to work. The through line is identity by decision: refusing to be a product of environment, choosing family over appearances, and designing work that supports fatherhood first. If you’ve ever wondered how to break generational patterns, leave a storefront without abandoning a dream, or build a business around micro-moments with your kids, this episode is your blueprint.

Any habit can help or hurt depending on how consciously you use it. ✅ Create before you consume. One concrete rule (post before scroll) flips screen time into an asset. ✅ Stack the right habits. Habit stacking works both ways - pair constructive habits on purpose. ✅ Calendar the life you want. Put family time on the calendar first, then fit work/social around it. ✅ Spend to expand (wisely). Self-reward is legit; use it to raise your wealth ceiling, not to self-soothe on repeat. In this episode, Tati and Travis share a practical time and energy audit that helps you turn five everyday habits into momentum. The goal is simple: stop living on autopilot and start choosing how you spend your attention. They unpack screen time, reading, family time, socialization, and retail therapy, then offer simple shifts that align with your values, goals, and season of life. • The conversation starts with screen time. Instead of doom scrolling, use a create-before-you-consume rule. Post one piece of content or capture a quick idea, then scroll. Avoid dual-screening TV plus phone, which kills true decompression and adds noise. Around kids, be present or step away. Make screen time a tool for learning, creativity, and connection. • Next is reading. Reading engages imagination and perspective in ways video does not. It opens new thinking, trains focus, and often delivers that “I never saw it like that” shift. Books, long-form articles, and expert threads all count. Build short daily blocks to make reading automatic. • Third is family time. Put family on the calendar first, then fit work and social plans around it. Design the week you actually want. Whether you have a 9 to 5, run a business, or freelance, the point is intention. If your current setup does not support the parent or partner you want to be, start building a new structure one block at a time. • Fourth is socialization. Choose rooms and people that raise your standards. Sports and team activities give kids community, leadership, and reps with shared goals. Adults need that too. Audit who gets your evenings and weekends. Align your circle with the identity you are building. • Finally, reframe retail therapy as self-reward. Purchases can either reinforce a wealth ceiling or stretch it. Spend with intention. Invest in tools, experiences, or education that expand capacity. The “first-class stretch” idea works because it pushes you to operate at a higher level and earn from that identity. Reward yourself, but do it in ways that support the future you. • Key takeaway: any habit can serve you if you make it intentional. Stack good habits together, remove the ones that clash, and let your calendar reflect your real priorities. Try one simple move this week. Create before you scroll, read for ten minutes, schedule one non-negotiable family block, text a growth-minded friend to plan an activity, or make your next self-reward something that compounds.

09: Choosing Your Child's School With Intention

Be intentional. Interview schools as if you’re hiring a co-parent.Values first, logistics second. Define what matters most: discipline style, communication, play, diversity, flexibility. ✅ Ask better questions. Use a written list: conflict/discipline policy, teacher-student ratio, outside/play time, attendance policy, communication, screen time, and staff background checks. ✅ Environment matters. A child’s surroundings shape mindset, confidence, and long-term behavior. ✅ Blend the best of every model. Their daughter’s school combines the strengths of public (diversity + social skills), private (standards + structure), homeschool (personalization), and Montessori (choice + leadership). ✅ Find teachers who keep learning. Continuous education in child psychology and gentle discipline creates healthier classrooms. ✅ Community over capacity. Great schools don’t fill seats—they curate aligned families. ✅ Look for project-based learning. Entrepreneurial, real-world “quests” (like building a lemonade stand) teach communication, marketing, and resilience early. ✅ Parent involvement = emotional connection. Be part of your child’s world; volunteer, mentor, or share your expertise. ✅ Build your family calendar around family, not work. Freedom comes from designing life intentionally. ✅ Teach your kids to lead, not conform. Schools should raise thinkers, not rule followers. ✅ Action step: Create your own list of 10 non-negotiables for your child’s education and schedule 2–3 school tours this month. In this powerful episode, Tati and Travis open up about one of their biggest parenting decisions yet—choosing their daughter’s school - and the deeper values that guided every step. This isn’t just about education; it’s about designing your child’s foundation, environment, and emotional future with intention. • They break down how they approached school selection like a major life decision and not just “signing up where we’re zoned.” Discussing how most parents default to the nearest public school, often without realizing how much that single choice impacts daily routines, confidence, social skills, and long-term growth. • They created an entire “School Tour Question List” that went viral online, helping thousands of parents ask better questions. Topics included discipline policies, teacher-student ratios, outside play time, attendance flexibility for travel and mental health, screen-time use, staff background checks, and daily structure. The goal: to find a school that reflected their parenting philosophy, not fight against it. • They eventually discovered a unique learner-driven private school that blends the best of public, private, homeschool, and Montessori methods. The result? A balanced environment built on diversity, leadership, and real-world application. Kids of different ages collaborate, older students mentor younger ones, and every semester revolves around a “quest” - a hands-on projects like running a lemonade stand to learn entrepreneurship. • The episode also explores family dynamics: how intentional schooling ties into the freedom-based lifestyle Tati and Travis are building. From flexible attendance policies to “Fun Fridays” that reward goal completion. Their daughter’s education aligns with their family’s rhythm and not the other way around. Travis even shares how he now volunteers and speaks at the school, integrating his business experience directly into the classroom. • Ultimately, this conversation challenges parents to stop living on autopilot and start curating their family ecosystem, school included! The right environment doesn’t just teach kids facts; it shapes identity, work ethic, and worldview.

Consistent value + authentic energy over posting “at 12:03 pm.” You are the algorithm. ✅ Speed beats perfection: ship the draft, iterate fast (Jobs-style). ✅ Hold a moral line: smart tactics vs stepping on people. ✅ Focus local (policies, purchases, impact) before raging at national headlines. ✅ Ask “What’s the incentive?” - follow incentives and most “conspiracies” make sense. • In this episode, we unpack the business playbook that consumers rarely see and how you can use it to grow smarter. From manufactured scarcity to viral PR “mistakes,” we explore why prices spike around storms and holidays, why certain chains stage headline-grabbing pivots (remember IHOb?), and how corporate comp plans quietly nudge sales reps to sandbag end-of-month deals. It’s not tinfoil; it’s incentives, psychology, and marketing. • We also talk retail shell games. Legacy brands shuttering stores while near-identical newcomers magically appear and the way “frenemies” at the top (think smartphone giants) clash in public yet cooperate in private. On tech, we get real about planned obsolescence, app-store vetting, and why devices feel slower when a new model drops. The takeaway: plan for hardware cycles instead of letting them plan you. • Creators and founders get a masterclass on “algorithm truthing”: there isn’t a single cheat code. Authentic energy, conviction, and consistent delivery beat rigid posting calendars. We share the story of a 2 a.m. postpartum upload that went viral precisely because it was fast, messy, and real. If you’re building, remember: success loves speed; ship the V1, gather feedback, iterate. Steve-Jobs-style floor walking (and listening to frontline teams) still outperforms ivory-tower thinking. • We wrap on ethics: we’re not anti-tactic. We’re pro-awareness. Use psychology and positioning without crossing your moral lines. Ask: Who benefits? What’s the incentive? Then choose your response. Whether that’s buying later, negotiating your comp plan, or pivoting your business model to remove the caps that burn out A-players. • Keywords: business psychology, marketing tactics, manufactured scarcity, PR stunt, planned obsolescence, sales compensation, sandbagging, algorithm myths, ship fast iterate, entrepreneurship mindset, Heart and Hustle podcast, couples in business, relationship + business growth.

How We Protect Focus, Family, and GrowthIn this candid Heart & Hustle episode, we unpack why being overly devoted to politics, religion, and national news can quietly sabotage your business, relationships, and mental health. Tati and Travis share how they curate inputs, preserve peace at home, and channel energy into actionable levers - like local policy, family goals, and revenue growth - rather than rage-bait cycles. From Outrage to Outcomes. We explore the difference between macro noise and micro impact. Presidential headlines rarely move your day-to-day, but local decisions - water quality, zoning, small-business rules, school calendars - shape your family’s health, schedule, and income. The fix: reduce national news doom-scrolling, increase local awareness, and reallocate that time into skills, sales, and systems. Money Mindset over Gas Price Rants! Instead of spiraling over price hikes, we model the reframing habit entrepreneurs use: make a substitution, adjust the budget, or create a new offer to cover the delta. Small wins compound. As Travis says, “Rich people don’t think they’re better than you; they think better than you.” That’s not elitism - it’s a decision framework: prioritize …, protect attention, and iterate faster than your problems. • Relationship First, Labels Last: You don’t need identical political views to thrive as a couple. What matters is shared values, clear boundaries, and real communication. We show how practicing “agree to disagree,” setting hard limits on polarizing topics, and aligning on family and financial goals keeps love strong and business nimble. • Faith, Laws, and a Plural WorldWe also touch the hot button: religion as a basis for law. In a diverse society, policy should serve the public square, not one creed. Keep faith personal, keep laws plural - while staying laser-focused on what you can actually influence at home and locally.

06: Team Sports: How Youth Sports Shape Character & Family Culture

Cheer, show sportsmanship, and celebrate effort and attitude, not only outcomes. ✅ Don’t chase perfect: If a plan hiccups (tech issues, practice chaos), pause, reset, and continue. Reps over perfection. ✅ Choose role models wisely: Point kids to athletes who embody discipline, family values, and work ethic (e.g., Kobe, Brady). ✅ Non-negotiable movement: Even if the sport changes (basketball → cheer), keep your child in team-based environments. ✅ Translate to life & business: Quick adjusting on the court = adaptability at work, in class, and at home. • On this episode of Heart and Hustle we dive into the real benefits of youth sports - far beyond scores and medals. Tati and Travis unpack how team sports for kids forge leadership, resilience, compassion, and quick decision-making, and how those same muscles carry into parenting, school, and business. • Tati shares why team environments matter to her identity - she’s a “team sport player” who thrives on collaboration, shared goals, and momentum. Travis adds a complementary angle: as a kid, sports were his healthy escape and structure during a chaotic home life, teaching discipline and giving him positive role models. • On the field (and mat), we coach what we live. We rotate captain’s patches to create low-stakes leadership reps for every child, not just the stars. That simple identity cue turns fidgety kids focused, and lets even the youngest feel responsible for tone, timing, and teamwork. We coach advanced athletes to lift newer teammates, reframing “I’m better” into “I can help,” and we praise effort, communication, and recovery after mistakes as much as perfect skills. • We address today’s youth sports costs. Entry fees, uniforms, and gear can overwhelm families, especially when a recreational culture absorbs elite habits (think $500 bats in rec ball). Our advice: keep rec leagues approachable, ask about scholarships, fundraising, and hand-me-downs, and remember that the biggest ROI comes from reps, coaching, consistency, and community.. not premium equipment. • Another theme: adaptability. Sports force real-time adjustments - the same way life and business do. Thousands of in-game reps become an advantage later: kids who learn to scan, decide, and act under pressure tend to handle classrooms, projects, and relationships more confidently. That’s why the we consider team sports a non-negotiable - the environment multiplies lessons you simply can’t simulate at home. • Finally, we emphasize role models. Athletes like Kobe Bryant and Tom Brady weren’t just highlight reels; we embodied work ethic, preparation, and family values. Pointing kids to examples like that can anchor habits - discipline on off-days, respect for teammates, and pride in the boring reps.

In episode 5 of Heart and Hustle, we celebrate reaching our pre-launch milestone: recording five full episodes before going public. Unlike polished productions, we intentionally share the “messy middle” of building so listeners can see what growth really looks like. This transparency reflects our commitment to showing the real process behind entrepreneurship, family life, and personal development. • Why Gratitude Matters:The central theme of the conversation is gratitude. For Tati, gratitude has been a cornerstone of her journey since first learning about the law of attraction over a decade ago. She explains how, even when far from her goals, practicing gratitude shifted her mindset and opened the door for bigger breakthroughs. By focusing on small things like waking up, breathing clean air, noticing the details of nature - she trained her brain to find abundance everywhere. • Science backs this up: Consistent gratitude practice rewires the brain to naturally seek positivity, making people more magnetic to opportunities and joy. • Everyday Gratitude in Action:Travis shares his perspective, starting with appreciation for his partner. He credits her influence with helping him uncover and heal parts of himself he didn’t even realize were hidden. Beyond their relationship, he grounds his gratitude in simple truths: every morning he wakes up is a reason to be thankful. This mindset allows him to approach challenges with resilience, even on difficult days.Together, they highlight how gratitude shifts perspective. Instead of dwelling on frustrations or negative encounters, they focus on breaking the “chain reaction” of negativity. By choosing gratitude and reframing situations, they stop small irritations from snowballing into bigger conflicts. • Gratitude, Growth, and PartnershipThis episode also explores how gratitude strengthens relationships. We emphasizes open communication, willingness to call each other higher, and rejecting ego as cornerstones of their bond. We describe our partnership as a true team effort - always striving toward shared goals, even when they approach problems from different angles. For us, gratitude isn’t about surface-level acknowledgments like “I’m thankful for my spouse” or “I’m thankful for my kids.” It’s about going deeper - being grateful for the growth, lessons, and even the hardships that shaped who we are. Tati reflects on how her husband’s difficult upbringing became fuel for his drive to be a present father and supportive partner, something she deeply admires.

In episode 4 of Heart and Hustle, we dive into the personal life rules that guide our decisions, energy, and growth. These “rules” aren’t rigid routines, they’re standards that act like filters for everything from relationships to business. By choosing to live by principles rather than excuses, we create consistency, clarity, and a sense of freedom that many people lack. • Rule 1: Life Works for MeThe first rule is simple but powerful: life works for me - always. Obstacles aren’t setbacks; they’re setups. From the “burnt toast theory” (where small delays may protect you from larger problems) to daily frustrations like traffic, we reframe challenges as tools for growth. This mindset shift allows us to let go of unnecessary anger and find hidden benefits in situations that would derail most people. • Rule 2: How You Do One Thing Is How You Do Everything Every action reflects bigger patterns. Whether it’s parking correctly, putting away a grocery cart, or holding the door for someone, small habits reveal character. We explain how daily behaviors compound into energy, magnetism, and opportunities. Choosing to act with care and intention, even in minor tasks, sets the tone for business, relationships, and self-respect. • Rule 3: Take the Extra 10 Seconds A long-standing personal mantra, “take the extra 10 seconds,” reinforces the value of systems and habits. Putting keys in the same place, restocking supplies immediately, or finishing small tasks on the spot prevents chaos and frustration later. In business, this principle translates into building repeatable systems that save time, reduce stress, and free up energy for growth. • Rule 4: I Did Not Come to This Life to Suffer Another cornerstone belief is choosing joy. We refuse to pour energy into activities that drain us or don’t align with our values. Cooking for hours, planning weddings, or saying yes to obligations that feel heavy are all filtered through this rule. Instead, we prioritize what brings fulfillment - family time, business building, and experiences that align with our goals. • Rule 5: Anchor Yourself in Quotes and Mantras From “never miss someone who knows how to find you” to “you won’t find the same person twice,” we highlights how powerful quotes can become guiding standards. These phrases remind us to honor growth, accept change in ourselves and others, and nurture friendships built on mutual respect. • Why It Matters Living by clear life rules allows us to navigate challenges with resilience, strengthen our relationship, and continually evolve. Rather than drifting with circumstances, they consciously choose how to show up - resulting in a life of greater freedom, joy, and impact.

Recognizing that kindergarten is often the “last year kids feel little,” we chose presence over hustle. This decision highlights a powerful truth for entrepreneurs: freedom means being able to step away when it matters most. • Getting Back Into the GrooveTransitioning back into business after time off can feel daunting. Travis explains that giving through donations and philanthropy reignites his motivation. Helping others fills his cup and inspires him to earn more so he can give more. Tati, on the other hand, needs intentional structure. Networking events, coaching calls, and daily routines help her shift back into creation mode. • Rewiring Money BeliefsTati opens up about overcoming money blocks rooted in childhood beliefs that “rich people are bad.” Through mentors like Chris Harder, she reframed wealth as a tool for good: when good people make great money, they do great things. This mindset shift now fuels her ability to earn, give, and lead without guilt. • Different Paths to MotivationWe reveal our strengths! Travis has mastered what he calls the “art of not caring” - he can focus and produce regardless of environment. Tati thrives on external energy and needs aligned surroundings to reach her best. Our contrast illustrates an important reminder: there’s no one right way to succeed. • Routines, Challenges, and Progress Over PerfectionFor Tati, routines like listening to mindset podcasts, journaling, and gratitude practices keep her grounded. She also leans on short challenges, like her 30-day no alcohol sprint that turned into two and a half years sober, to build habits that stick. Together, we reflect on lessons from Alex Hormozi’s book launch, which proved that progress matters more than perfection. • Life Rules for Intentional LivingThe episode closes with Tati’s growing list of “life rules” & personal standards that shape decisions and outcomes. One key rule: perfection isn’t required. By living through intentional standards, her actions align with her values, creating both freedom and impact.

Name the tradeoff explicitly.✅ Location freedom matters: Decide if geographic flexibility is a non-negotiable for your life design. If yes, optimize for it (not just for money or title).✅ Define your freedoms: Get specific on the trifecta-time freedom, money freedom, location freedom—and filter every decision through it.✅ Pivot proof: During COVID, the shop grew to seven figures and still didn’t align—growth ≠ fit. Audit alignment regularly, not just performance.✅ Community over convenience: A brick-and-mortar, community-first model can thrive without e-commerce, but it may limit owner freedom.✅ Micro-moments matter: Missing “small” events (practices, playdates, weekday school things) compounds. Inventory the moments you’re willing to miss.✅ Plan exits with respect: Step back via a documented transition, SOPs, and clear dates. Don’t “ghost quit” what you built.✅ Stack safety nets: Build passive income / online systems early so big pivots aren’t reckless, just strategic.✅ Capacity grows under pressure: Expect obstacles as tests. Use them to expand capacity before your next level.✅ Values lead, numbers follow: If the business becomes a golden cage, choose the life you want and let the metrics reconfigure around it.In this episode of Heart and Hustle, we unpack the counterintuitive choice to step away from a growing, seven-figure brick-and-mortar business right when the numbers looked their best. Our goal: design a life centered on family, location freedom, and intentional entrepreneurship, not just topline growth. The story begins in 2012 when the business transitioned within the family. Years of grind followed six days a week, long retail hours, and an all-in, community-first model. During COVID, while many businesses struggled, we surged. Social media attention spiked, nostalgia kicked in, and local loyalty deepened. The shop hit seven figures without selling online; we stayed intentionally local to serve long-time customers who’ve shopped since the late ’90s.But growth exposed a misalignment. Despite a record year - up ~57% YTD at one point, the schedule meant missing the “micro-moments”: weekday cheer practices, Saturday birthday parties, etc. Travis never missed the big milestones, but the small, frequent moments, the ones that stitch a childhood together, kept slipping. That’s when the “golden handcuffs” became real: more revenue, more validation, but less of the life we’re actually building this for.We got brutally specific about our values: time freedom, money freedom, and location freedom. The local, in-person nature of the business made location freedom nearly impossible without diluting the community experience or over-automating a niche that thrives on trust and in-store relationships. So we created a respectful transition: SOPs, handoff to family leadership, and selective support on peak days and shipments; no “ghost quitting.” Meanwhile, we leaned on pre-built passive income and online skill sets (blogging, SEO, digital systems) to make the pivot strategic, not reckless.Key lesson: performance ≠ alignment. A business can be profitable, beloved, and still be a golden cage if it conflicts with your life design. When you define your non-negotiables, especially location freedom, your decisions get easier, even when they’re emotionally hard.If you’re an entrepreneur, parent, or creator wrestling with tradeoffs, use this episode as a framework: clarify your freedoms, audit your calendar, design your exit, and build capacity for the next level. Growth is great. Aligned growth is better.

Introducing the TNT (Tati & Travis) Dynamic: In this lively pilot episode of the Heart & Hustle Podcast, hosts Travis and Tati pull back the curtain on our unique relationship and dynamic. After years of talking about it, we finally decided to hit record and share the conversations, laughter, and behind-the-scenes decisions that shape our life together. Our mission isn’t to brag about love, but to showcase how two polar-opposite personalities can align, balance, and thrive in business, family, and personal growth. • Humor Meets Drive: - Travis describes himself as someone who has always been able to spark joy and laughter, regardless of the situation. He’s the person who can lighten the mood with humor, even when no one else laughs — because he finds validation within himself. This childlike humor coexists with his serious, solution-driven side, making him the go-to for getting things done. His balance of fun and responsibility has been a defining trait throughout every stage of his life. - Tati, on the other hand, identifies as a multi-passionate trailblazer. From her early years leading sports teams and organizations to her adult life as a self-led entrepreneur, she has always thrived in leadership roles. She embraces transformation and reinvention, carrying what she calls “main character energy” into every room she enters. Her presence commands attention, and her drive to achieve and move the needle forward is evident in everything she pursues. • Opposite Brains, Shared Vision:One of the core themes of this episode is how different our brains operate, and why that works so well. Tati is the visionary and creative spark, while Travis is the structured, solution-oriented executor. Instead of clashing, they embrace their differences and allow each other to fill in the gaps. Something as small as watering plants becomes an example: Tati loves the aesthetic, Travis ensures they thrive with practical solutions. This acceptance creates a safe space in our relationship where humor replaces nagging and intent outweighs tone. Even small frustrations are met with laughter or perspective instead of conflict. We emphasizes that our success is rooted in always assuming positive intent, both in our relationship and in interactions with others. • Why Our Dynamic Matters: The TNT duo makes it clear this podcast isn’t about offering generic relationship advice. It’s about exploring how independent strengths combine to create a powerful dynamic that elevates not only love but also business, parenting, and personal growth. Our goal is to give listeners a real glimpse into how we thrive through challenges, evolved together for nearly a decade, and built a life fueled by humor, vision, and shared perseverance. Stay tuned for Episode 2 - where it starts to ramp up!
