The Present Moment

Feeling Emotions Outside Judgement
The latest episode of your favorite podcast is out and there was a lot talked about! They begin by discussing some of Carly’s recent challenges and how this has made her look at the idea of manifestation and being in flow from a different lens. They discuss how being in flow, or rooted in the present moment, doesn’t always mean that things work out exactly as you want them to or think it should, and that’s okay/ This then evolves into a talk about how it’s okay to feel whatever you are feeling when faced with challenges, and how we should avoid the temptation to think we are doing something wrong or judge ourselves when we feel frustrated or when things aren’t going our way. Ayahuasca in the Amazon
We have a super special episode this week as Carly has just come back from doing Ayahuasca in the Amazon jungle in Peru! This episode is an in depth account of Carly’s journey, how she felt mother Aya call to her, what her experiences were like while taking it, and how she felt it affected her energy and being since her journey. On her way to the airport, Carly was struck with disaster, and she talks about her experience with that and how it wasn’t a deterrent from her ayahuasca adventure but the start of it. Having years of spiritual work and energetic healing under her belt, Carly talks about in what ways ayahuasca worked with her differently, the intensity of the experience, and why she feels called back to it. Tom asks questions around if she would recommend it to others on the spiritual path, in what ways it was a similar or different experience compared to other forms of spiritual work, and her unique view on how it has changed her in daily life and her perspective of herself. Embarking on New Journeys
New episode with your hosts Tom and Carly who are both having big changes in their lives! They start by Carly divulging that she’s going on a trip to Peru for an Ayahuasca retreat. Carly talks about her initial apprehension around it turning into excitement, and how she has prepared for this incredible plant journey. They then switch gears to talking about what has been going on in Tom’s life, and he reveals he has been going through a tough breakup. This was a long relationship and they decided to mutually part ways, and Tom talks about how this experience has been very different from his past breakups. Tom discusses how differently they approach relationships now and the appreciation he has for every relationship, even if it doesn’t last forever. This leads them both into a discussion around how their spiritual work has changed their ability to be in and out of relationships for the better. Along with this, they talk about the ways they are learning lessons in lighter and easier ways through how they manifest their reality. Next, they talk about how many people, themselves included are in a place where they have no idea what’s going on or what’s coming in a way–yet how this is a place of power. Foggy Future
In the latest episode of Heart Fire, Carly and Tom catch up as Carly is having home renovations happening and Tom has adopted a cute but energetic puppy! Carly talks about how this hasn’t been an easy process for everyday living or the small self being comfortable, but through changing her relationship to the circumstances, she’s been able to move through it gracefully. Tom discusses having a new puppy and how that’s been a butt kicking of sorts as she needs constant attention, care, and consideration of her schedule. This has led to a lack of sleep and energy which has been a struggle as it leads to frustration. Tom dives into how he has been sitting with and learning from this frustration and how to work with the circumstances more gracefully. They both discuss the work it takes to serve this being that’s new to the world and not judging oneself when they struggle or get frustrated when raising this new being. The idea of meditating in the marketplace comes up again as we all must learn to hold our high vibration even when life gets crazy around us. Their talk leads into a letting go of ideas of the future and how our ideas of the future can hold us back. Both Carly and Tom draw cards and get fascinating insights into the questions asked. Finally, they end on how their hard experiences with habits they adopted from their parents give them more compassion for their parents who did the same things without the same level of awareness. Light and Lifting
In our latest episode, Carly has just returned from Costa Rica and she talks about her experience at Paul Selig’s Costa Rica retreat including what she learned, the theme of the retreat, and the wonderful and challenging experiences she had there. Tom and Carly then discuss the universal experiences of growth and challenges coming to humanity. This leads into a discussion about people having new experiences of relationships and how we as humanity are starting to fully resee and reknow personal and romantic relationships with each other. Carly and Tom then discuss working with the daily challenges that come up in their life, whether it be small things or bigger challenges outside of their control. Along with challenges, they discuss their trigger points or buttons so to speak, then get into a conversation about how we can file down our button triggers. They then talk about how to hold things lightly to embody the peace and focus on what needs our attention in the present moment. Lastly, they pull quite interesting oracle cards and use both intuition and the booklets to analyze them and understand what they could mean. Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dogs
In this latest episode of Heart Fire, Carly and Tom feel that they are on the bounce back after a long and hard couple of weeks. They discuss how their experience of challenge has changed through this work and as they allow everything to be an opportunity rather than problem. There is a big discussion around dogs as Tom considers adopting or fostering a puppy. They then get into a conversation about how as healers and energy workers, they aim to use energy from past, present, and future to heal and lift themselves and others. Tom discusses the answer he got around why he is channeling despite it being something he wouldn’t choose for himself and hope he can benefit from the experience. After talking more about some of the challenges they’ve been experiencing, they get into how they are quicker to realize ‘the treasure in the garbage’ around challenges. Carly notes that she’s been getting recurring messages and healings around cellular regeneration and how we are all being lifted as beings at that level. The Wave of Change
In our latest ep, Tom and Carly are just getting back from a vacation in Hawaii where they saw each other and other good friends. During this vacation, they had many spiritual experiences and breakthroughs together as a friend group, which left a lot of new avenues to explore and additional integration to occur. They discuss a lot of the different spiritual experiences they had on this vacation as well as how the integration process has been since they got back. The contrast between their consciousness in Hawaii and how their everyday mind and life has perceived things since they got back is a big discussion point. In this group, they had a group practice session that lead to breakthroughs with channeling that lead to crazy and wonderful experiences. Along the theme of contrast, they get into how our expectations can color our reality, and how we can work with expectation for our benefit by surrendering them. Sacred Sacrifice
In our latest ep, Tom and Carly get into things by talking about the scattered and chaotic energy they and others have been feeling. They mention this scattered energy is an opportunity to learn as the great wave of change hits humanity over the coming weeks. This wave of change will be energetic, emotional, and manifest physical changes in one’s life. Carly and Tom then talk about the wildfires in Maui, and how we can all energetically work with and support the people, land, and nature of a place after a tragedy. This lends to a discussion of death, and how death is an important part of life and can be seen as a sacred sacrifice. The Energy of Gratitude
In this new episode, Tom and Carly get a guest star as both Carly’s dogs and Tom’s cat make a noise appearance in the background. This gets them talking about the wonderful role pets can play in our lives, and how they are tuned into an element of nature that we can actually learn from for our happiness and development. Next they discuss moving into the healing and powerful energy of gratitude. This is not gratitude in empty words but in experience of life. The modern cliches around gratitude though get Tom thinking about how it’s not just what we say but how we say it. Carly notes that there is intention and energy behind all things said, and this affects how it’s heard and understood by the listener. They both expand on the idea that a true teaching is not enough, one needs to embody it for it to be felt and known by another. Carly and Tom then note that what they’ve been learning recently is that how they are in the world is their service, that it is their vibration and expression that serves others. Carly notes that her job is to day to day be of the highest vibration she can be to serve others in her healing work and daily life. They then get into what manifesting really is and what it looks like to manifest your dreams. To expand on this idea, Tom talks about how to move to a state where one is co-creating with the Divine. Skepticism to Discernment
In our new episode of Heart Fire, Carly and Tom catch up, starting with Tom announcing the official opening of his Reiki practice. Both talk about the fears that have arisen around being public with one's spirituality and one's spiritual gifts, and how both past life trauma and current life experiences can affect this. Neither of them lets the fear take over though as they then discuss ways in which they moved beyond this fear to share their gifts in service with the world. Next, they discuss how skepticism has both helped and hindered them in the past. Tom mentions how his skepticism of some New Age ideas led him to the teachers and practices that gave him only experiential results and benefits in his life and perspective. On the flip side, he does note that if he allows the doubt to take over, it can hinder his faith at times. Carly mentions that skepticism can be lifted to the higher where it becomes discernment which is highly useful and healthy on all our paths. Meditating in the Marketplace
In our new episode of Heart Fire, Carly jumps right into things by talking about how much she is loving her new living situation and the high energy the nature around her is providing. Carly mentions how she at first held some expectations about her new situation based on prior history, and yet the experience of this new place made her again realize that our expectations are false and we can let go of history to allow the good and new in. They then get into some negative little personal habits they’ve become aware of, and Tom notes that as we lift higher and learn more, we inevitably bump up against our old shells, shells which may have at one point helped keep us safe but now only restricts our movement. A discussion starts about what fertilizes them, Tom mentioning having time alone for meditation and getting the right amount of sleep, and Carly discussing journaling, getting out in nature, and drinking enough water. Ep 3: Our Stuffed Animal Hearts
In the latest episode of Heart Fire, Carly and Tom catch up on the craziness (and lack thereof) of Carly's big move and Tom’s trip to the NBA Finals. They discuss moving into flow energy and how it changes all you experience for the better. Tom discusses being sick last week and how that can be a sign that you need to slow down and think about how you are in everyday life: are you busying yourself like crazy, worrying too much about the future, feel like you need to get everything done right now? Along with that, they talk about how it feels to have grown up with the fear that the other shoe is always about to drop, and how we can move into knowing, faith, and surrender to be in receipt, not fear. Forgiving Family
This is a brand new spiritual podcast hosted by Carly and Tom called Heart Fire. In this pod, we draw oracle cards and discuss what their meaning is, how it relates to that point in our life, discuss our spiritual journeys, and what teachings we can take away from them for the future. In this second episode of Heart Fire, Carly and Tom begin by giving a recap of their hectic lives over the last two weeks. Carly, in the process of moving, notes how seamless it has been as she surrenders more and more to The Divine. She mentions having a few moments of freaking out because she wasn’t freaking out and everything was going too smoothly, and how even moments of slipping back into old patterns can be highly useful. Next, Tom discusses his “productive” two-week trip to Italy with his family. This becomes a deep discussion on how to avoid stepping back into old and hard dynamics with family, how to see our family members outside of our ideas and histories of who they are and what they have been like, and creating the space to forgive them and ourselves for any pain we may have caused each other. Carly pulls a card first this time and gets a rare and interesting one, which sparks a new discussion. Rocketship to Enlightenment
In this very first episode of Heart Fire, Carly and Tom begin by discussing who they are, their journeys and backgrounds around spirituality, and how they met. They then realize that neither of them came prepared with a question for the oracle card drawing (the one requirement of the show), yet they are told they can pick a card for general guidance on their life and the future. They both get unique cards that relate heavily to each other’s cards and that point in their life. The meanings of the cards gets them rolling on discussions around how some of their hardest life experiences were their greatest growth opportunities, how they learned to surrender over and over again, and how the Universe somehow always knows when you are trying to trick it into getting what you want.
