Heart of the Ronin

About Heart of the Ronin

In an ancient land of warriors, demons, gangsters, and spies… He meets the love of his life. And their relationship may destroy them both. In 13th-century Japan, Ken'ishi is a 17-year-old ronin, a masterless samurai, in search of a master who will some day help him become a samurai. His unknown father's ancient sword, Silver Crane, is only beginning to reveal its secrets when he saves the life of a noble maiden from a demon and his vicious bandit gang. But her father frowns–dangerously so–on their budding romance. The underworld kingpin known as Green Tiger recognizes Silver Crane, and knows its power. Can Ken'ishi discover the truth of his heritage and learn the secrets of Silver Crane without losing his heart…or his head? You'll love this first volume in this epic historical fantasy series because its mix of martial arts action, history, myth, and romance will keep your ears glued to the story. Get it now! “A fusion of historical fiction and adventure fantasy, the first volume of Heermann's Ronin Trilogy is a page-turning folkloric narrative of epic proportions…. [His] writing style is confident and fluid, his characters well developed and his serpentine story line anything but predictable. Numerous tantalizingly unresolved plot threads will have readers anxiously awaiting the second installment in this gripping tale of ill-fated love, betrayal and destiny.” – Publishers Weekly “Full of sword battles, intrigue, romance and fantastic elements blending well with historical ones, Heart of the Ronin is a very impressive opening in the Ronin Trilogy. It's also a page turner that you can't put down and will leave readers begging for more.”– Fantasy Book Critic
