In December 2022, he stepped down from his position to distance himself from everything that reminded him of that fateful day. Aquilino's story combines the narrative of the intense events of one of the darkest days in American democracy with the personal journey of an immigrant defending the symbols of American democracy while the nation’s own citizens sought to destroy them. La Torre Glòries (formerly known as Torre Agbar) in Barcelona is one of the city's most iconic buildings, a symbol of its economic power. Almost no one knows that within its offices, an army of men and women face the worst horrors humanity is capable of on a daily basis. These are the content moderators, employees tasked with viewing what we don't want to see: suicides, murders, rapes, abuse... Some have attempted suicide, others suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and paranoia. Many have needed psychiatric help, and most end up resigning from the job. For almost all of them, the time spent as moderators remains the hardest experience they've ever endured. That’s why they are joining in a legal battle against the company. "The Tower" is the story of one of those moderators, a young model named Kyra Sennen, who was hired at La Torre and discovered there the limits of the atrocities she could withstand. Now, she speaks for the first time about what happened in that place where, every night, the moderators decided which human horrors could be seen by the public and which could not.
