Begin With Boundaries | Episode 16
Have you ever found yourself completely overwhelmed and wondered, “How did I get here?” Your calendar is too full. People are expecting too much. You’ve said yes to things you didn’t really have the capacity for—and now you’re frustrated with everybody. Sometimes the problem isn’t everything happening around us. Sometimes, we needed better boundaries from the beginning. In this episode of Helping From the Inside Out, Rosa Jones, LPC, explores what boundaries really are—and what they aren’t. Boundaries aren’t about controlling other people. They’re about managing yourself: what you will accept, what you’re willing to give, what you have capacity for, and how you will respond when your limits aren’t respected. Because just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. 🎧 Listen to Begin With Boundaries and consider one question: What boundary can I put in place now that could keep me from ending up overwhelmed later? Episode 13: The Way You Start Matters
The way you begin a season can shape everything that follows. New clients, new schedules, new responsibilities, and new opportunities can be exciting—but the small choices you make at the beginning often become the habits you carry with you. In this episode of Helping From the Inside Out, Rosa Jones, LPC, explores how seemingly small decisions around boundaries, rest, workload, and self-care can either protect your well-being or quietly lead you toward overwhelm and burnout. If you’re a counselor, healthcare professional, educator, leader, first responder, or anyone who spends their life helping others, this episode is a reminder to start your next season with intention. Ask yourself: What small choice can I make today that my future self will thank me for? Episode 12: Bring Your Best Energy, Not All Your Energy
As helpers, we’re used to giving. We care, support, teach, encourage, problem-solve, and show up for people—often without stopping to consider how much energy we actually have available to give. But being good at what you do doesn’t require giving everything you have. In Episode 12 of Helping From the Inside Out, Rosa Jones, LPC, explores the difference between bringing your best energy and giving all of your energy. While there will always be seasons that require us to dig deep, operating at 100% every day isn’t sustainable. Over time, constantly overextending yourself can contribute to burnout, compassion fatigue, resentment, and overwhelm. Rosa also discusses how our performance-based culture can make it easy to connect our value to how hard we work, how much we accomplish, or how much we're willing to sacrifice for others. But sustainable helping requires a different approach. Instead of treating your energy like something you have to give away, learn to treat it like an investment. Be intentional about where you spend it, protect it, refill it, and make sure there is still something left for your family, your relationships—and yourself—when the workday is over. In this episode, you’ll be encouraged to ask yourself one important question: “Am I giving from what I have—or from what I wish I had?” Because showing up consistently with your best energy will have a greater impact than constantly trying to give everything you’ve got. If you’re a counselor, therapist, healthcare professional, educator, social worker, ministry leader, or anyone who spends your days helping others, this episode is your reminder: You can care deeply about the work you do without losing yourself in the process. Episode 11: You Don’t Need a Perfect Routine Consistency Matters More Than Perfection
We love a good routine—especially when it makes us feel organized, productive, and in control. But when you’re a healer or helper, even the best-planned day can quickly change. In Episode 11 of Helping From the Inside Out, we’re talking about why the pursuit of the “perfect” routine can actually make it harder to stay consistent. You’ll learn why a disrupted schedule doesn’t mean you’ve failed, how to let go of all-or-nothing thinking, and why small, healthy choices still count. Because consistency isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about learning how to come back. If your routine hasn’t gone exactly according to plan lately, take three minutes for this reminder: You don’t need a perfect routine. You need one you can come back to. Watch the episode and share it with another healer or helper who needs this reminder. Read the full episode transcript: http://myfreedomss.com/podcast11 (http://myfreedomss.com/podcast11)

Who Takes Care of the Helpers?
Helping others is rewarding, but it can also be exhausting. Many counselors, healthcare professionals, educators, clergy, caregivers, and other helping professionals spend their days supporting everyone around them while neglecting their own needs. Over time, that can lead to stress, burnout, and the belief that asking for help is something other people do—not us. In this episode of Helping from the Inside Out, Rosa Jones explores an important question: Who takes care of the helpers? You'll be reminded that no matter how skilled, compassionate, or dependable you are, you are still human. Humans need rest. Humans need support. Humans need people. If you've been carrying more than your share, this short episode offers a simple but powerful reminder: being a helper does not exempt you from your humanity.
