Her Guide to Period Products & Vulvar Health with Kelly Rigby Physiotherapist

In this episode of Her Guide, I welcome back Kelly Rigby, Physiotherapist. We dive into a topic that affects almost every woman, yet one that many women are never properly educated on: our anatomy, period products, vulvar health, and what is actually normal when it comes to pain and discomfort. We unpack everything from tampons, menstrual cups, and menstrual discs to vulvar health, pelvic floor function, and pain with insertion. We discuss why some women struggle to use period products comfortably, the common mistakes many of us make, and the signs that may indicate an underlying issue worth investigating. We also talk about supporting young girls through their first periods, navigating changes after childbirth, and the simple but important ways women can care for their vulvar health throughout different stages of life.

Follow Kelly

https://www.instagram.com/refinedphysiotherapy/

https://refinedphysiobykelly.com/

Resources Mentioned

https://www.labialibrary.org.au/

Her Guide is a podcast created to support women and their village through conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the many transitions that shape womanhood. Her Guide to Sensitive Skin and Natural Skincare with Kirsty Coates Founder of BEETL

In this episode of Her Guide, I am joined by Kirsty Coates, founder of BEETL Skincare®, a natural skincare brand created for families navigating sensitive and eczema-prone skin. What started as a search for answers when her daughter developed eczema has grown into a much-loved brand across Australia and New Zealand, built on generations of botanical knowledge passed down from Kirsty's mother, who is both an Obstetrician and a herbalist. In this episode, we talk about the motherhood journey that inspired BEETL, the ingredients and philosophies behind the products, what parents often misunderstand about eczema and sensitive skin, and what it really looks like to build a business from the ground up while raising young children.

BEETL has kindly offered Her Guide listeners 20% off with the code HERGUIDE20.

Follow BEETL & Kirsty

https://www.instagram.com/beetlskincare/

https://www.instagram.com/kirst_coates/

https://beetl.co.nz/

Her Guide is a podcast created to support women and their village through conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the many transitions that shape womanhood. Her Guide to CMV Awareness with Stephanie Briggs Founder of The Hope Initiative for CMV

In this episode of Her Guide, I am joined by Stephanie Briggs, founder of The Hope Initiative for CMV, who shares her personal story and helps us better understand Cytomegalovirus, more commonly known as CMV. Despite being one of the most common congenital infections worldwide, CMV awareness remains incredibly low, particularly during pregnancy. In this episode, Steph shares her journey into motherhood, her experience during her second pregnancy with her daughter Charlotte Hope who devastatingly passed away in utero due to the impacts of CMV. We discuss her experience and how it ultimately led her into advocacy and awareness work. We also discuss what CMV actually is, how it's transmitted, why education matters so deeply, and the practical ways families can help reduce risk through awareness and prevention. This episode is being released during CMV Awareness Month, and my hope is that conversations like this help more families feel informed and supported.

Follow Steph & The Hope Initiative for CMV

https://www.instagram.com/hopeinitiativecmv/

https://hopeinitiativeforcmv.com/

https://rednose.org.au/grief-and-loss-support/overview/

https://www.pinkelephants.org.au/

Her Guide is a podcast created to support women and their village through conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the many transitions that shape womanhood.
