Herbal Action Podcast: Nicole Rose, Solidarity Apothecary
Nicole Rose is an organiser, grassroots herbalist and agroecologist living in England who has been active in struggles for human, animal and earth liberation for over 20 years. Nicole did a 3.5-year prison sentence aged 21 amidst a decade of state repression against the campaign to close down Europe’s largest animal testing company. She’s been supporting loved ones in prison for over 15 years and recently founded the Solidarity Apothecary, a project supplying free plant medicines to people experiencing and recovering from state violence and repression. www.solidarityapothecary.org Nicole Rose is author of the Prisoner's Herbal.

Hosted on Acast. S2:E1: Finn, Grassroots Public Health
Many HWB Chapters organize People’s Clinics. People’s Clinics are free or sliding scale holistic health clinics that can take many forms - popup clinic at a table in a community room or local health food store, mobile clinic via bike, van, bus, cart. A monthly repeat clinic at a specific location. A disaster relief clinic after a hurricane, forest fire, flood, or catastrophic event. We may want to reach the homeless community, veterans, people in recovery, or families in shelters. In many cases, if we want to reach marginalized communities - especially for disaster relief - we must work with or alongside the public health system to reach those in need. Finn is working with HWB to help Organizers connect those dots to utilize the tools needed to integrate into PH systems.

Hosted on Acast.
