   DEI Doesn't Work

In this compelling episode of Here 2 There, host Marilyn Ehrhardt sits down with Otto Valdez and Luis Alvarez, two industry leaders with firsthand experience navigating the realities of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in both totalitarian regimes and the corporate world. Drawing from their personal journeys as Cuban exiles who built successful careers in global logistics and manufacturing, they unpack the historical roots of DEI, its ideological underpinnings, and why government-imposed equality programs fail to produce real success. Episode Highlights: The Origins of DEI and Its Ties to Marxist Ideology – A look at how DEI principles have evolved from critical theory and historical movements. Firsthand Experiences Under Totalitarianism – Otto, Luis, and Marilyn recount their lives in Cuba, facing oppression, food rationing, and forced labor camps. The Real Keys to Success – Hard work, merit, resilience, and character over government programs or ideological mandates. The Power of Individuality and Value Creation – Why success in a free society is determined by skill, effort, and innovation rather than identity-based quotas. Overcoming Challenges as Immigrants – How language barriers, cultural adaptation, and relentless perseverance helped them thrive in the U.S. Learn More About Here 2 There To explore more episodes and insights from Here 2 There, visit our website: https://h2t.sabianet.com (https://h2t.sabianet.com).
