S1 E02 It’ll Take our Doctors 4 hours Just to get the Smile off your Face (1984 Top Secret)

The 2nd movie we ever discussed, on Dec. 18th, 2018. It’s ANOTHER musical (kind of)! We were still working on the title of the podcast. Popi did a hero’s job to get this under 2 hours. You’re welcome. Note that at this point we were attempting to do the pre-watch and post-watch in one sitting.

Better establishes key elements of our pre-watch structure: “Do you recall seeing this in the theatre?”, “Twitter Synopsis”, “Top 3 Memorable Scenes/Quotes”, “Do you have any merch?”, “Where were you?”. Aaron sadly confuses the Pinto with a Gremlin and/or AMC Pacer, and also can’t count to 11. This is when Popi adds “Social Importance” and “Quotability” to our rating items, and it’s obvious we don’t yet know what the hell we were up to (sorry about the echo on Popi’s voice, that’s Aaron’s fault with a bad audio set up).

If you’re a fan of Omar Sharif, Peter Cushing, Freddie Laker, and/or LeRoy Neiman paintings, this may be the episode for you...or not. Aaron lays out the case for romantic story lines ruining a good action movie.

Enjoy our tween/teen version of 80’s nostalgia - like trying to fix the vertical hold to see a boob on Cinemax, skateboarding, Pacman fever, Blaupunkts, the school stress dream, and trying to figure out girls. Our adult selves attempt to untangle stereotypes about male prison rape, homosexuality, the preoccupation of the financial media on interest rates, and American isolationism...clumsily.

Alternate episodes titles: “There’s always a bigger nerd”, “Who wouldn’t try the banana?”, ”It all sounds like some bad movie”, “The pigeons are the real heroes”, “Underage bestiality is really beyond the pale”, “Our boob demographic is not getting enough”.

It may take the Doctor’s 4 hours to get the smile off YOUR face, but only if you get through the whole damned thing, which is held together with seaweed and snot. This podcast should win an academy award for technical excellence, because it was literally filmed underwater. Latrine!

Leave us a voice message! https://anchor.fm/aaron-lewis7/message

S1 E04B If you're in for the Nipples, you're in for the Ears (1977 Oh God!)

This is the epic conclusion to Episode 04A, where we talk about Oh God! after having re-watched it. Despite taking more than 9 months to edit the 2nd half, these were originally recorded only a few weeks apart in January 2019. You will be amazed at the continuity if you listen to both episodes back-to-back.

Includes our legendary post-watch re-rating items: "Science", "PC", "Nudity", "Social Value/Impact", "Quotability", as well as "Good/Bad" critique of the critics. This was also the episode where Popi coins our now-permanent exiting tag line in the last minute, don't miss it.

Trust me when I say I worked hard to edit this DOWN to a tight 2 hours, 19 minutes. This is definitely establishing itself as a podcast for people who really have a lot of time to kill and just want to hear SOMETHING, for God's sakes ANYTHING but silence. We had lots to think about our format after this marathon session. For those of you with the guts to listen all the way, you will be rewarded many times - we might peak at about 1 hour in - exploring the pain of grocery store management. We probably trough 10 minutes later where I take a break to do a fitness challenge but don't bother to stop recording. We worship at the altar of St. John. We pay tribute to Oly beer, and appeal to your urge to reminisce about the 70s and 80s with gems like the Airwolf theme song, and the AMC Pacer commercials among many others, especially inspired by the many comedians I searched for drops from.

Finally, what you really wanted to know: we resolve for all time whether Cukes should be waxed or...something else!

P.S. If the drops are the best thing about this podcast for you, here is a sample of ones used in this episode:

Richard Little Same Protection Rant: Down and Out in Beverly Hills

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2Vd-jKS34w

Cleveland Wins the Pennant!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp7xMfOOsYI&feature=share

Cut! S1 E3 Nude Yoga (1983 Blue Thunder)

Recorded Dec. 2018, this hefty 2 hour plus episode includes Pre-Watch discussion & ratings plus full review of the movie post watch. We were still figuring out our format and were trying to do the whole thing in one sitting before we learned better. Highlights include: Nude Yoga! Horatius at the Bridge! Along with our legendary rating items: Science, Political Correctness, Social Value/Impact, and Nudity. 80's fans have a lot to love as we reference Helicopter porn ranging from 240 Roberts to Riptide, and both Aaron and Popi contribute a lot of drops. Listen for Popi's original cover of the Alex F. theme on Casio keyboard, and clips from family band Schlong! Note we hadn't settled on a title at the time, so you will horrifically hear me call it 'The Awesome Podcast'. Buckle in for cringes, and take a bathroom break halfway through...welcome to Episode 3 of Here Let Me Drag That Out For You. (Drinking game bonus word: "Copter"). Disgruntled?
