Ep 31: The Impact of Agendas on Society and Authority with Alex Cooney
<p>Alex Cooney is a former NSW Police Highway Patrol officer who, prior to COVID, was regarded as a high-performing and principled member of the force. During the pandemic, he became a public whistleblower after raising concerns about unlawful directives and conduct within NSW Police. His stance brought widespread attention, global support, and ultimately led to his suspension, investigation, and resignation.After leaving the force, and once free to speak openly, he began sharing his experiences publicly—at rallies, protests, and through independent media. Alongside this, he built a sole-trader business to provide for his family while undergoing a profound personal reckoning with authority, truth, and responsibility.</p><p>Today, Alex is deeply interested in how modern societies are structured to distract, dominate, and disconnect people from their innate capacity to think, choose, and create. Ep 31: "Let it Always Be Known That I Was Who I Am" - Life Stories with Emma Joy
<p>This conversation came about after Emma pointed out that I am a quad right (HD) and asked if I’d like her to interview me. Which of course I jumped at the opportunity because quad right mani gen- yes please I love questions! </p><p><br></p><p>This quickly spiralled into me ranting on about my entire life and then feeling a just little self conscious! So I’ve been sitting on this episode for a few weeks as I question my motivation for showing up online, my ever changing relationship to sharing publicly and the impact of my choices to do so on my loved ones. </p><p><br></p><p>Anyway I finally decided to go ahead and publish it today. </p><p><br></p><p>I joke in the interview that the reason I started this podcast was all because I wanted to be a guest on someone else’s podcast. (Joking but serious- as all “jokes” are). But the other reason is probably just record keeping- I want to tell all my stories before I forget them.</p><p><br></p><p>As always I feel there’s a lot of stuff missed, a lot I wish I’d said differently and a bunch I'd like to take out.
