Podcast Overview

The Mission On the occasion where He saved Zaccheus in Luke 19, Jesus proclaimed that the reason He had come was "to seek and save that which was lost." His was a rescue mission. As the apostle Paul put it in 1 Timothy 1:15, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners." Our salvation, however, demanded that payment be made for our sins, which is why Jesus died on the cross. He paid the awful price for us, so that by believing and following after Him, we're able to receive forgiveness and eternal life. That's the gospel. Sinful people may be reconciled to God, by His grace, through faith in His son Jesus. Now, as His people, believers have been charged with taking the good news to the world. "Go and make disciples of all the nations," Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, "baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." That command forms the heart of our mission at Heritage Church. We exist to preach and teach God's word, so that the unbelieving can hear, respond in faith, and receive salvation; and so that those already believing can heed the message and grow in grace and righteousness together in community with one another.
