Mijn instrument #7 Roshan (11) speelt slagwerk

Roshan (11) koos voor slagwerk omdat het bestaat uit heel veel verschillende instrumenten: drums, pauken, het woodblock, bekkens, xylofoon en ga zo maar door. Slagwerk speelt een grote rol in het orkest, en dat bevalt Roshan wel. Een keer mocht hij optreden in Het Concertgebouw, vanwege corona was het zonder publiek. ‘Ik kwam binnen en dacht, ik heb geluk dat er geen publiek bij is.’ Met muziek van Benjamin Britten, Evelyn Glennie, Calexico, Dominique Vleeshouwers en Duke Ellington. Mijn instrument #6 Robin (11) speelt viool

De viool is geen makkelijk instrument, vertelt Robin (11): ‘Inmiddels heb ik een behoorlijk goed gehoor en weet ik hoe een noot wel moet klinken.’ In een miniseconde verzet ze dan haar hand zodat het toch zuiver klinkt. ‘Je hand heeft een geheugen,’ bovendien is noten lezen echt niet zo moeilijk. ‘Ja, dat is wel grappig want ik heb dyslexie, maar met noten lezen heb ik daar helemaal geen last van.’ Met muziek van Vivaldi, Bartók, Vaughan Williams, Shostakovich en Andrew Bird.
