Helikopters, hoogwerkers en zakken met geld. In de jaren ’70 en ’80 kon alles bij de VPRO Radio. Tenminste: dat is wat makers Tom Hofland en Pascal van Hulst in de wandelgangen hoorden. Als kinderen van de jaren ’90, en makers van nu, werden ze stikjaloers op die zogenaamde gouden jaren. Maar was het toen echt alle dagen feest? Naar aanleiding van het 100-jarig bestaan van de VPRO maakten Tom en Pascal een documentaire over de roemruchte VPRO-radiogeschiedenis. Over de creativiteit, de gekte én de grenzen die daarbij werden overschreden.

Ze was vrijgevochten, gedreven, getalenteerd en van grote betekenis voor de dans: Darja Collin, de eerste Nederlandse danseres die internationaal doorbrak. Programmamaker Katinka Baehr maakte samen met Arend Hulshof, die een boek over Darja Collin schreef een tweedelige documentaire. Over haar avontuurlijke leven, haar dans en haar (korte en ongelukkige) huwelijk met schrijver, dichter en scheepsarts Slauerhoff. Vandaag deel twee. Het boek van Arend Hulshof heet: Alleen in dans kon zij wonen. De teksten in de documentaire zijn ingesproken door: Christianne Alvarado en Eric Arends.
