De beelden van fotograaf en activist Letizia Battaglia (1935-2022) gingen de hele wereld over, als historisch bewijs van de bloederige maffiaoorlogen op Sicilië in de jaren ’70 en ‘80. Maar Battagliafotografeerde niet alleen plaatsen delict, ze legde ook de schoonheid van haar geboortestad Palermo vast. Wie was zij? En wat zette ze op het spel door de maffia recht in de ogen te kijken? Een audioportret gemaakt door Laura Stek, naar aanleiding van de tentoonstelling Letizia Battaglia: Life, Love and Death in Sicily in Fotomuseum Den Haag. Met curatoren Iris Sikking en Paolo Falcone, en historicus Arthur Weststeijn.

In de documentaire van vandaag een portret van een vrouw die een groot deel van de 20e eeuw meemaakte en het staartje van de 19e: Tante Annie uit de Jordaan. Gewoon een vrouw uit een Amsterdamse volksbuurt die goudeerlijk vertelt over haar leven. Programmamaker Jacqueline Maris interviewde Tante Annie toen ze 95 jaar was voor de serie ‘Arbeiderslevens’. Inmiddels bijna 40 jaar geleden. Katinka Baehr maakte een hermontage.

‘Ik heb mijn danserscarrière aan Darja Collin te danken.’ Dat zei de wereldberoemde choreograaf Hans van Manen kort voor zijn dood tegen Arend Hulshof, de biograaf van Darja Collin. Onlangs zonden we in OVT een tweeluik over Collin. Ze was vrijgevochten, gedreven, getalenteerd en van grote betekenis voor de dans. En ze was de eerste Nederlandse danseres die internationaal doorbrak. Vandaag een korte bonus-aflevering met onder andere Hans van Manen, gemaakt door Katinka Baehr en Arend Hulshof. De biografie die Arend schreef heet ‘Alleen in dans kon zij wonen. Het vrijgevochten leven van Darja Collin.’
