當愛有了比較──難道我不該擁有更多嗎？
愛怎麼被看見或被感受，除了內在抽象的感受外，最顯而易見的就是外在條件的給予，書中智芬姑姑的到來，開啟了有慧與自己養母的比較之心…。那些想而未得、同時覺得原本應該是我的物質享受，怎麼影響著她。 張西筆下希望將「愛中的殘忍面」直接剝開，讓主角們直視，而不再視而不見，她相信相對於混亂，疼痛更能學習愛或是被愛；而疼痛又怎麼讓有慧分辨「愛」真實的模樣。（不論是以什麼樣的形式存在） - 葉有慧終於被打扮好，智芬姑姑滿意的表情才加上了笑容：「妳這樣漂亮多了。」她邊說邊再次上前，替葉有慧整理了一下耳環的位置，然後淡淡地說：「妳呀，不要表現得像是沒有人愛的孩子。」葉有慧沒有說話。她靜靜地站在那裡，從更大面的全身鏡中看著自己，和背對著鏡子在替她整理洋裝的智芬姑姑的背影，智芬姑姑髮旋中的白髮她都看見了，但她看不見智芬姑姑的表情。 葉有慧想起女人這幾年時不時端上桌的過期的食物，蛋糕、甜湯、小菜、滷肉飯。有時候她會拒絕，過期的味道不太明顯的時候，她會跟女人一起吃。老實說，葉有慧也不確定是不是每一樣食物都過期了。過期這件事會有一個明確的時間點嗎。 葉有慧藉口說要去上廁所，然後站在小房間外拿起那杯冰鮮奶茶。女人不曾買過鮮奶茶，她總說鮮奶茶比較貴。葉有慧沒有打開來喝，只是晃了晃手上的外帶杯，冰塊的碰撞聲還很清楚。 - 【本集重點】 ‧ 短讀《葉有慧》 ‧ 開啟比較的開關：智芬姑姑 ‧ 從外在摸索出的差異 ‧ 看見愛裡的殘忍面 ‧ 對「圓滿」的渴望 ‧ 「我希望能成為這樣的大人」 【本集節目由三采文化、迷誠品合作播出】
