Host, Courtney is in no way an expert but is super passionate about talking all things mental health and well-being. Her aim is to shed light on what can be a dark topic. Courtney shares her own experiences, interviews guests, talks to health professionals and shares tidbits and stories along the way.
In this episode, Courtney Elliott shares her personal journey through her second hospital admission for mental health treatment which took place in March 2024. She reflects on the differences in her experiences between her first and second admissions, discussing the challenges she faced with medication management, the hospital environment, and the overall mental health care system.
(NB: Courtney was clearly in a bad mental headspace when she recorded this. She has the utmost respect for nurses and what they do. However, in this instance, found that the paperwork and desk work was impeding on the care of the patients at times.)
Throughout the conversation, she emphasizes the importance of holistic treatment approaches and expresses her desire for better support and understanding from health professionals.
As she navigates her recovery, Courtney also shares her hopes for the future and the importance of feeling less alone in the mental health journey.
