Ep # 121 To Honor, or Not to Honor?

Today we journey back to one of the most familiar of the Ten Commandments: "Honor your father and your mother." Most of us have read those words countless times, but few stop to ask what they really mean.

What does it mean to honor someone? What does biblical honor actually look like? And does this command still apply when parents have failed, abandoned their children, or caused deep wounds?

Then we turn to one of the weirdest passages in all of Scripture. What does Jude give us to help understand how to honor difficult people? More than you might imagine.

Join us as we explore what the Bible teaches about honor through the lives of King David, Jesus Christ, and other powerful biblical examples. Together we'll discover how honoring others reflects our trust in God, even when it's difficult.

Welcome to today's message: "To Honor, or Not to Honor."

High Forest Community Church

www.highforestchurch.com

Recorded: 7/26/26

For more information on how you can be certain of having eternal life, please contact us at info@highforestchurch.com

Our other links:

Facebook: facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552868390256&mibextid=JRoKGi

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@highforestcommunitychurch

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5l3baJZMvOJLYutaMDoVnv

Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hfcc-christ-centered-hope-for-todays-world/id1753425592?i=1000673790907

Rumble: https://rumble.com/user/HighForestChurch

We are a Bible-Based, Jesus Only small community church located in rural South-East Minnesota. Ep #120 When God Delays

Today on our continuation of our Walk with Jesus, we enter a story that only John records in chapter 11 of his book.

Here we see Jesus being warned of his friend's serious illness. But rather than rushing there to help the man, Jesus delays, and the man dies.

What was going on? Did Jesus not really care? Why would He cause unnecessary pain and suffering for not just the man, but his two sisters?

How about us; have we ever felt the same? Where it seems like God should come rushing in our time of need, and yet the answer doesn't make it in time? Or has it?

Today we will experience that God's timing is perfect, and what we might view as a lost opportunity could instead emerge as a triumphant victory as we look at "When God Delays"

High Forest Community Church

www.highforestchurch.com

Recorded: 7/19/26

For more information on how you can be certain of having eternal life, please contact us at info@highforestchurch.com

Our other links:

Facebook: facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552868390256&mibextid=JRoKGi

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@highforestcommunitychurch

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5l3baJZMvOJLYutaMDoVnv

Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hfcc-christ-centered-hope-for-todays-world/id1753425592?i=1000673790907

Rumble: https://rumble.com/user/HighForestChurch

We are a Bible-Based, Jesus Only small community church located in rural South-East Minnesota. Ep #119 The High Cost of Unbelief

Jim returns as we continue our Walk with Jesus series. Today we enter Mark 11:11–21, where we encounter one of the most well known moments in Jesus' ministry: His cleansing of the temple. There, He confronts those who had turned a place of worship into a place of exploitation, taking advantage of those who had come to seek God.

Yet surrounding this dramatic event is another account that has puzzled readers for centuries: Jesus' encounter with a fig tree. At first glance, His response seems surprising, even confusing, leaving many to wonder why this story is included in Scripture at all.

As we look more closely, however, we discover that the fig tree is not an isolated event, but a powerful lesson that frames everything happening in the temple. Together, these passages reveal a sobering warning about outward religion without genuine faith, while also pointing us to the incredible grace of God.

Join us as we uncover the significance of these remarkable events and discover The High Cost of Unbelief.

High Forest Community Church

www.highforestchurch.com

Recorded: 7/12/26

For more information on how you can be certain of having eternal life, please contact us at info@highforestchurch.com

Our other links:

Facebook: facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552868390256&mibextid=JRoKGi

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@highforestcommunitychurch

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5l3baJZMvOJLYutaMDoVnv

Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hfcc-christ-centered-hope-for-todays-world/id1753425592?i=1000673790907

Rumble: https://rumble.com/user/HighForestChurch

We are a Bible-Based, Jesus Only small community church located in rural South-East Minnesota.
