Rooted In Family: The Transcript of Allie Mcevilly
How much do the people closest to us shape who we become? This week, we sit down with Lakeside High School senior Allie McEvilly, our first student guest of the season, to explore the power of family and the influence of those we surround ourselves with. From following in her older siblings’ footsteps in athletics and academics to discovering shared interests and hobbies, Allie reflects on the role her family has played in shaping who she is today. We discuss the importance of a strong support system, the impact of positive role models, and how the five people closest to us can influence the paths we take. For Allie, four of those five are family.

A Paper Trail: The Transcript of Jason Eldredge
What can one educator’s journey tell us about how education itself has changed? Fourth-year principal Jason Eldredge joins High School Transcript to reflect on a career that has taken him through elementary, middle, and high school education. We discuss the evolution from paper-heavy classrooms to an increasingly digital landscape, why some educators are beginning to reconsider pencil and paper, and what those shifts may mean for student learning. We also dig into questions surrounding college readiness, including recent findings about high-achieving high school students requiring remedial coursework after graduation. Along the way, Jason shares the experiences that shaped his path from educator to administrator and his perspective on where education has been and where it may be heading.

A lot can change in four years. Sarah Anderson returns to High School Transcript as she prepares to graduate the first group of students she's taught from freshman year through senior year. We revisit the sports background—and love of the Green Bay Packers—that helped lead Sarah toward sports medicine, the path that eventually brought her into the classroom, and how Lakeside's Sports Medicine program has grown since our first conversation. Now, Sarah has her sights set on what's next: continuing to build a program she hopes will become one of the most respected in the area.
