Frankenstein and Mary Shelley Jay and Noelle are back and talking about Frankenstein and Mary Shelley! This episode includes: 1. Mary Shelley’s mother died when she was young. As a girl, Mary learned to read by tracing her mother's name on her tombstone. 2. At 16, Mary used to meet in secret with married 21-year-old Percey Shelley at her mother’s grave. 3. In 1816, she spent the "The Year Without a Summer” quarantined in Switzerland with poets Lord Byron and her husband Percy Shelley. 4.
