October is full of so many things to love- changing leaves, cozy nights, bonfires, pumpkins, football, candy, and time with family. But what happens when the season also brings an overwhelming amount of scary, disturbing, and dark entertainment?
In this episode of Higher Hope, Adriane shares her “October soapbox” and asks an important question: Do we really have to consume darkness just because it’s October? Drawing from Philippians 4, Romans 12, and Colossians 3, she talks about being intentional about what we allow into our minds and homes, especially as Christians and parents.
Adriane encourages women and families to embrace the fun and creativity of the season without feeling pressured to participate in things that create fear or anxiety. Most importantly, she reminds us that while the seasons change and the world can be dark, Jesus never changes.

7% Interest Rates: Should You Wait to Buy? Ft. Carrie Rosenau
Is a 7% interest rate keeping you from buying a home? In this episode of Higher Hope, Adriane sits down with Shine Realty’s managing broker, Carrie Rosenau, to talk through what today’s housing market really means for buyers.
From interest rates and refinancing to negotiating power, inspections, credit, and choosing the right lender, Adriane and Carrie break down the opportunities that buyers may have in a market with less competition. They also discuss strategies for first-time buyers, move-up buyers, sellers, and investors- including Carrie’s own experience buying a home at a higher interest rate and later refinancing to save significantly over the life of her loan.
Most importantly, this conversation isn’t about rushing into a purchase. It’s about replacing fear with knowledge, seeking wise counsel, and making decisions that fit your financial situation and your family.

5 Things I’ve Learned From My Daughters
After her daughters shared 10 things they learned from their mom, Adriane has a few thoughts of her own! In this episode, she offers her “rebuttal” and shares the stories and lessons behind the values she tried to instill in her children-from saving and serving to hospitality, generosity, discipline, and keeping Christ at the center of family life.
But then the tables turn. Adriane reflects on five things her daughters have taught her: to be a little more goofy, make time for fun, step into uncomfortable circles, pray more and lecture less, and embrace the gift of working alongside family.
Through laughter, humility, and a whole lot of gratitude, Adriane reflects on the beautiful truth that parenting isn’t a one-way classroom. We spend years teaching our children, only to discover that God has been using them to teach us all along.
“Your children don’t need a perfect parent. They need one who points them to their perfect Savior.”
