The Table Is Always Set | Welcome Home — Week 2 | Ps. David Johnson
There’s a place for you in God’s house. The door is always open, and the table is always set.
In week two of Welcome Home, Pastor David explores what it means for the church to be a place to belong. Through Romans 15, 1 Peter 4, and the story of Zacchaeus, we discover that welcoming people begins with loving them, knowing their story, and making room for their faith to grow.
A table set welcomes anyone. A table set is built by everyone.
God has given each of us gifts, experiences, and a story that can help someone else find their place in his family. Whether you’re exploring faith or have followed Jesus for years, you have a place here and a part to play.
What has God given you that could help someone else feel at home?

The Door Is Always Open | Welcome Home — Week 1 | Ps. David Johnson
What kind of church are we meant to be?
We believe the church should be a place where anyone can begin—a place for the searching and the saved, the certain and the unsure, the longtime believer and the person simply wondering if there might be something more.
In week one of our WELCOME HOME series, Pastor David shares what it means to become a church where “the door is always open.” Looking at Romans 12, we discover that genuine hospitality is about far more than being friendly. It’s about remembering that the church isn’t simply a place we attend—it’s a people we are. And Jesus has called us to open the door for others just as He opened the door for us.
We’ll explore three keys to becoming a place where people can begin:
• Remember: church isn’t about you—it is you.
• Learn how to love.
• Seek the searching.
Who is one person in your life who needs an open door? Pray for them. Pursue them. Invite them in.
WELCOME HOME.
The door is always open.

Where Do We Go From Here? | Ephesians 6 | Ps. David Johnson
After 15 weeks in Ephesians, we come to the end of the letter and face one important question: Where do we go from here?
Paul’s final words remind us that the good news of Jesus was never meant to stop with us. Like Tychicus, we have received a message that we are now called to carry into our homes, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and city.
In this message, Pastor David Johnson explores four realities that should mark us wherever Jesus sends us:
• Find peace
• Choose love
• Walk by faith
• Know and show grace
There comes a moment when learning must become living, belief must become obedience, and we must step out of the “parking lot” of uncertainty into the future God has prepared for us.
So, where will you go from here?
Highlands Church exists to help people find and follow Jesus. We are following Jesus together, carrying His peace, love, faith, and grace wherever He leads us.
Scripture: Ephesians 6:21–24
