This sermon explores the theme of Christ's solitude during his arrest, highlighting the stark contrast between the disciples' abandonment and the Savior's steadfast determination to proceed to Calvary. The message examines Peter's denial as a consequence of spiritual distance and worldly association, yet emphasizes that genuine repentance leads to forgiveness and restoration, as seen in Peter's later ministry. Central to the theological argument is the doctrine of *Sola Christus*, asserting that salvation is the exclusive work of Christ, who alone bore the wrath of God and accomplished redemption. The preacher encourages believers to find comfort in the promise that Christ never forsakes his people, even when they fail, and to trust in his sufficiency for salvation.

A Memorable Day
The sermon examines the narrative in Joshua 10 where Joshua leads Israel into battle against a confederacy of five kings, highlighting the unique day when God answered Joshua's prayer for the sun to stand still. The central message emphasizes that faith is defined by confidence in the Lord amidst conflict, rather than the absence of difficulty. The preacher connects this historical event to contemporary cultural battles, urging believers to contend for the faith while trusting in God's sovereign power to overcome impossible odds. The victory is attributed entirely to the Lord, who fought for Israel, demonstrating that divine intervention, not human strategy, secures triumph. This earthly victory serves as a pointer to the greater spiritual victory achieved by Christ at Calvary, where He defeated sin and death. The sermon concludes with an exhortation to give God all the glory and to pray for memorable days of spiritual revival and answered prayer.
