His Fire Podcast is a Spirit-led Christian podcast born from obedience, faith, and a deep hunger for Jesus. Hosted by 19-year-old Maddox, it features bold, faith-filled conversations exploring who Jesus was—and who He still is today. Rooted in discipleship, testimony, and faith in action, each episode closes with communion, calling listeners to reflection, surrender, and revival in their hearts. His Fire isn’t Maddox’s fire—it’s God’s, igniting passion and drawing hearts back to Christ for such a time as this.
I just read the entire book of Ephesians… in one sitting.Who we can be in Christ. What grace really means. And how we’re called to walk it out daily. From being dead in sin ➝ to alive in Christ. From division ➝ to unity. From darkness ➝ to light. This isn’t just theology—it’s transformation. If you’ve been feeling lost, distracted, or distant… go read Ephesians. It’ll realign everything.

Let Jesus Fill That Void | ft. Kiah Seay | EP 11
In this episode, Kiah and Maddox unpack the reality of letting go of sin and what comes after. Too often, we try to walk away from sin without filling the space it once occupied—and that’s where we fall back into it. The truth is, that void in our hearts was never meant to stay empty. It was meant to be filled with the presence, love, and truth of Jesus Christ. This conversation is both honest and convicting. It challenges you to stop justifying what you know is holding you back and to finally call it out for what it is. Whether it’s something you’ve been hiding, excusing, or returning to, this is your moment to confront it.Letting go isn’t just about losing something—it’s about making room for something greater. Real freedom, real peace, and real transformation are found when you surrender fully and allow Christ to take His rightful place in your life.If you’ve been holding on, this episode is your wake-up call. It’s time to let it go.

What Does The Bible Say About Tattoos? | read description for references
In this episode, Maddox breaks down the real context behind tattoos in Scripture. In the Old Testament, specifically Leviticus 19:28, markings on the body were connected to pagan rituals—people would cut or mark themselves to gain favor from false gods or to show allegiance to a specific idol. It wasn’t just about appearance… it was about worship and identity. But here’s the key:That command was given to set Israel apart from surrounding pagan nations—not as a universal, timeless ban on tattoos for all believers. So let’s be clear:Christians can have tattoos. This falls into a non-essential, slightly controversial area that requires wisdom, conviction, and understanding of context. In the New Testament, the focus shifts from external law to the heart posture: • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 — your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit • Romans 14:5 — matters of personal conviction • Colossians 3:17 — do everything for the glory of GodA helpful note from Revelation:Revelation 19:16 describes Jesus Christ with a name written on His robe and thigh (“King of Kings and Lord of Lords”). While not a direct endorsement of tattoos, it shows symbolic markings tied to identity and authority—not pagan worship.Bottom line:It’s not about ink—it’s about intent.Ask yourself: Does this honor God? What does it represent? Who does it point to?

Hesitation, Observation, & Procrastination | ft. Chris Bell | EP 10
After Chris came to BCM at Cumberland, I asked him what he wanted to talk about on the podcast—and without hesitation he said: “Hesitation, Observation, & Procrastination.”
In this episode, we dive deep into what it looks like to hesitate when God is calling you, to sit on the sidelines in your faith instead of stepping into action, and to wrestle with the reality of delayed obedience.
So many of us know what God is asking us to do… but we wait. We overthink. We observe. We procrastinate.“If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin.” — James 4:17
Delayed obedience isn’t partial obedience—it’s disobedience. We also talk about Jonah—called by God to go to Nineveh, yet choosing to run in the opposite direction. He got comfortable on a boat headed away from God’s will… until God redirected him.“ But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish…” — Jonah 1:3. That story reflects us more than we like to admit. It’s easy to get comfortable. Easy to justify staying still. Easy to observe instead of act.
But following Christ was never meant to be comfortable. We are not called to be “part-time” Christians in a “part-time” world. We are called to full surrender, full obedience, and a life that may cost us comfort.
Heaven doesn’t call us to convenience—it calls us to sacrifice. This walk with Christ isn’t a cruise ship. It’s a battleship. If you’ve been hesitating, waiting, or putting off what God is calling you to do—this episode is for you.

Doing the Work of an Evangelist | ft. Pastor Jonathan Pfingsten | EP 9
What does it really mean to “do the work of an evangelist”?On our spring break mission trip with the BCM, Pastor Jonathan (PJ) spent time pouring into us as college students—sharing both a message and his personal testimony of how God called him into ministry. The conversation centered on Second Epistle to Timothy 4:5:“But as for you, exercise self-control in everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” (CSB)We unpacked it piece by piece:• But as for you — God speaks personally to each of us.• Exercise self-control — choosing obedience even when it’s difficult.• Endure hardship — if it’s endurable, endure it.• Do the work of an evangelist — share the good news with the gifts God has given you.• Fulfill your ministry — be faithful with the responsibility God has placed in your life.Hearing PJ’s testimony alongside this passage was a powerful reminder that God calls ordinary people to faithfully walk out the ministry He places before them.Thank you PJ for investing in us this spring break.

Face Before Favor | ft. Drae | EP 8
Drae and I had a real conversation in the Smoky Mountains this spring break — about seeking God’s face before asking for His favor.
So often we want His hand (the blessing, the breakthrough, the platform)… but intimacy comes before influence.
Humble surrender isn’t weakness — it’s alignment. Psychologically, surrender relieves the anxiety of control. When we stop striving to be our own savior, our nervous system rests. Submission to Christ isn’t suppression; it’s freedom. It’s trusting the One who is faithful, steady, and good.
Seek His face before His favor.
Presence before presents.
Intimacy before influence.

Lead Like Jesus | ft. Jackson Stroup | EP 7
This weekend I had the privilege of serving at a youth retreat with 6th–12th graders, and sitting down with Jackson, a senior at Gallatin High School whose final high school football season ended with a torn up knee.Watching him walk through a season-ending injury only deepened my respect for him. While most people would check out, he was in the hospital watching the game. As soon as he could, he was back on the sideline—coaching up players, encouraging his teammates, and choosing to lead even when he couldn’t play.People see that. I see that.In this episode, we dive into leadership on and off the field. We talk about identifying the “cancer” in a team or in our own hearts—and flipping it. We unpack the difference between biblical love and the world’s version of love. Society pushes self-seeking love. Scripture calls us to self-sacrificing love. This episode is for anyone who wants to lead like Jesus. Not for applause. Not for status. But for His glory.

A Testimony from Zimbabwe | ft. Benji | EP 6
Join me in this powerful conversation with Benji as we explore his journey from Zimbabwe to the United States, the spiritual battles he’s witnessed, and the victory we already have in Jesus. We dive into the intimacy of the heart, putting our lives in alignment with God through the Word, discipleship, and the mission of the Church. After our discussion, Benji boldly shares the gospel, with a now brother, in the library, proclaiming that Jesus is the one true God who died for the justification of our sins. Romans 10:10 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVjFl8npSNE&t=610s) reminds us that belief must come from the heart and be expressed with the mouth. True faith isn’t just words—it’s a heart that genuinely knows Jesus. As Matthew 7:21 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVjFl8npSNE&t=441s)–23 warns, those who call “Lord, Lord” but lack genuine belief will be told, “I never knew you. Depart from me.”💬 Topics discussed:-Spiritual warfare & encounters with witchcraft-Heart intimacy & discipleship in the Church-Proclaiming victory in Jesus’ name-Evangelism in action-The importance of true belief in the heart📖 Scripture references: Romans 10:10 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVjFl8npSNE&t=610s), Matthew 7:21 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVjFl8npSNE&t=441s)–23

Lust vs. Love | ft. Emma Clemmons | EP 5
In this episode, Emma shares her testimony of how God transformed her life and reshaped her understanding of love, purity, and identity. We talk about the importance of godly community through the local church and BCM at Cumberland University, why isolation fuels sin but confession brings healing (James 5:16), and how the collegiate generation is being discipled by lust instead of biblical love. This is an honest conversation about sexual sin, accountability, and what it looks like to pursue Christ in a culture that constantly distorts love.

The Love You’ve Been Looking For | ft. Luke Parker | EP 4
In this conversation, Luke and I talk honestly about following Jesus while still learning along the way.We talk about choosing ministry not as a title or platform, but as a daily surrender. Faith isn’t something you add to life occasionally — Christ becomes your life. Not an accessory, but your identity. We didn’t start with everything figured out. We just opened Scripture and tried to live it. As we applied it in real situations — obedience, doubt, failure, and growth — we watched it prove true. The words of Jesus stopped feeling distant and started showing up in everyday life.Following Jesus isn’t just agreeing with beliefs — it’s experiencing His love daily, and that changes you. Peace replaces anxiety. Purpose replaces confusion. At the center of it all is the truth that changes everything:Jesus didn’t just die for humanity in general — He died for you personally. He loves you, values you, and His life, death, and resurrection were deeply intentional toward your soul.Like Viktor Frankl (a Jew in the Holocaust) said, the highest goal a person can aim for is love. We’ve found that real love is found in Christ — and choosing Him every day is where life starts to make sense. Our theology isn’t perfect. We’re not presenting ourselves as experts — just people walking with God, learning as we go, and inviting others to choose Him daily too.If you’re exploring faith, struggling with it, or trying to live it honestly, this conversation is for you.

Call to Confession | ft. Kyan Maher | EP 3
In this episode of Call to Confession, Maddox and Kyan open up about their pasts and the weight of hidden sin. We speak honestly about sexual sin, the shame it brought, the damage it caused, and how secrecy kept us bound longer than we ever expected. We didn’t just struggle — we let it ruin parts of our lives. Our minds. Our relationships. Our intimacy with God.But healing didn’t begin until confession did.We talk about why bringing sin into the light is uncomfortable, humbling, and absolutely necessary. Freedom didn’t come from hiding better — it came from confessing.James 5:16 — “Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”Confession isn’t weakness. It’s warfare. It’s how chains break. It’s how shame loses its grip. It’s how healing begins. If you’ve been carrying something in secret, this conversation is for you.

Love God. Love People. Repeat | ft. CREW | EP 2
Maddox pastors youth by teaching them about the love God has for us, using the image of fire to explain faith. Just as a fire begins with a spark, faith begins with a relationship with Jesus. That spark grows as we learn to love God and love His people. Loving God means reading His Word, listening to His voice, and walking in obedience. Loving people looks like praying for them, reminding them of Jesus’ love, and sometimes introducing them to Christ for the first time—adding logs to the fire again and again.

Why His Fire? | EP 1
I’m Maddox—a 19-year-old college student walking out my faith in real time. His Fire isn’t about my passion, my love, or my calling. It’s about God’s fire—the love and purpose He places within us. The name comes from Matthew 3:11, where John the Baptist points beyond himself to the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit and fire. This podcast exists to do the same: to point hearts to Jesus. His Fire Podcast is for anyone who wants to grow closer to God—whether you’re deeply rooted in faith or still asking questions. I wasn’t fully committed to my faith a year and a half ago, so skeptics are welcome here. This is a space for honest conversations, discipleship, and faith in action.Outside the podcast, I study healthcare, work at a hospital, run multiple businesses, serve in youth ministry at The Warehouse Fellowship, and will be serving at FUGE Camps this summer. Every episode ends with communion—not as a ritual, but as a proclamation of trust in Scripture and in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This isn’t my fire. It’s His.
