[…] I decided to make a variation on that theme, but for American history, or more precisely, the history of lands that are now in the United States. And I opened up the scope, you could say, to any object that is now surviving anywhere in the world. And most of the ones that I've found so far are in some museum collection somewhere, but not all of them, as I'll discuss later. And in a lot of ways, I hewed pretty closely to the British Museum model. For instance, I have worked chronologically, starting from prehistory, and I've gone up through Contact and Conquest and then the colonial era, And I'm just now getting up to the time of the American Revolution, and I hope if all goes well, I'll be able to continue up to modern times.
