<p>Agama Hindu dan Buddha pada awalnya berkembang di India. Setelah itu, barulah menyebar ke negara-negara di dunia, termasuk Indonesia. Dengan ini maka munculah pengaruh bagi kedua belah pihak dan terjadilah akulturasi kebudayaan. Candi Hindu maupun Buddha pada dasarnya merupakan perwujudan akulturasi budaya lokal dengan budaya India. Masuknya agama Hindu dan Buddha di Indonesia kemudian memunculkan pembaruan besar. Kebudayaan Hindu dengan mudah diterima rakyat nusantara karena adanya persamaan kebudayaan Hindu dengan kebudayaan nusantara.<br> <br> </p>
