In this podcast series, Paul Zanazanian, author and Associate Professor at McGill University, explores what history is, what it can do, and how people use it in their everyday lives. What is unique about this series is that Zanazanian engages in conversations with scholars and other professionals who do not work in any field directly related to history but — as shall be discovered — hold valuable insights about history’s worth and relevance. The podcast is inspired by Zanazanian’s book, Historical Consciousness and Practical Life: A Theory and Methodology, which examines history’s life uses.
FRIGID (Joffrey Dumas) is a Montreal-based songwriter, producer, performer, DJ and multidisciplinary artist whose work lives at the intersection of electronic music, rock, fashion, and radical self-expression. Emerging from Montreal’s underground electroclash scene, FRIGID became known for his explosive parties, international DJ performances, and genre-defying artistry. His recording career spans collaborations with new-wave icon Plastic Bertrand, the first album Bedroom Sessions (2006), and the cinematic VOTH (Violence of the Heart) (2016). Today, FRIGID continues pushing sound and vision into bold new territory and is about to release brand new material — always free, defiant, and gloriously unfiltered.

INVITED GUEST: Joshua Dorsey, Founder and CEO, Hivelighter
Joshua Dorsey is the founder and CEO of the Montreal-based tech startup Hivelighter — specialized in non-generic enterprise research, knowledge leadership, and client-intelligence. They work with some of the most demanding companies in the world, including Cossette, Scale AI, dBI. Their research team recently made a breakthrough in Agentic AI that has opened up new horizons for Hivelighter in the Agent-to-Agent (A2A) marketplace. Dorsey’s previous success was in the entertainment industry as a film & television director, showrunner and producer - creating hit shows for History Channel, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Showtime, and Discovery... and was the first ever creator to have a project successfully leap from web to network television. Dorsey also started an arts organization for disadvantaged teens. INVITED GUEST: Eran Plonski, National Account Director, iGuzzini Lighting
Eran Plonski is the National Account Director at iGuzzini Lighting, with over 25 years of experience in LED lighting design and manufacturing for major retail brands such as Alo Yoga, Macy's, CVS, OrangeTheory Fitness, and Aritzia. A pioneer in early LED technology, he designed and manufactured luminaires for the award-winning lighting at Coney Island's iconic Parachute Jump, recognized with the 2006 Lumen Design Award. He's known for weaving the history of lighting, architecture, and brand heritage into his client relationships, turning each project into a shared story.
