   Chic-I Want Your Love 9:28:24 6.39 PM

Keyboardist: Gail Nobles Photo: Jmex (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Jmex) - Own work Wikipedia: CC BY-SA 3.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0) Whenever I'm craving a good vibe on those weeknights, I can't help but think of the legendary band Chic. Their sound doesn't just get you dancing. It fills your heart with joy as you get into those groovy 1970s rhythms. It’s the kind of music that makes you feel alive and ready to enjoy life. Honestly today's tunes just don't have that same magic for me. So I keep listening to Chic’s tracks and reliving that feel good energy. One of those tracks that I listen to is the track I Want Your Love from Chic’s second studio album C’est Chic 1978. In the United States, "I Want Your Love" reached number one on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in November 1978[2] and number five on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in April 1979. It also peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 in May 1979 and remained on the chart for 19 weeks. In the United Kingdom, it reached number four on the UK Singles chart (the highest position of any Chic singles) and spent 11 weeks on the chart. I'm Gail Nobles, and you're listening to the Hitmakers Music Podcast. Keep reliving the tunes.

Hello! I'm Gail Nobles. Welcome to the hit makers podcast. I want to talk about a girl group from Oakland California which achieved mainstream success during the 1970s and 1980s. They are the Pointer Sisters. There were four sisters: June Pointer, Bonnie Pointer, Anita Pointer, and Ruth Pointer. Bonnie left the group and went solo. You may remember her hit Heaven Must Have Sent You which became a US top 20 pop hit on September 1, 1979. The girl group genres are plentiful: R&B, pop jazz, electronic music, bebop, blues, soul, funk, dance, country, and rock. The Pointer Sisters have won three Grammy Awards and receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1994. The group had 13 US top 20 hits between 1973 and 1985. The first time I heard the Pointer Sisters is when I heard their hit song Fire in 1979. Then after that, He's So Shy in 1980. The song had an outstanding keyboard and synthesizer sound. It was very noticeable to me and different than most of the songs I heard during that time. Whenever I saw the Pointer Sisters, their song He's So Shy was the first song that would come to my mind. It was an awesome hit by the Pointer Sisters. Thank you for listening to Hitmakers Music Podcast. I am your host Gail Nobles.

To me, it's a very special and spiritual song. Whitney Houston is called the First Lady of song, and she is also called the voice.........

    Disco Michael - 2:7:20, 7.17 PM

Title: Disco Michael Podcast theme song by: Gail Nobles © 2020 Keyboard and vocals by: Gail Nobles Photo credit: loon735/Photobucket.com Downloaded from: https://s139.photobucket.com/user/loon735/media/mechatronics/michael%20jackson/26.jpg.html (https://s139.photobucket.com/user/loon735/media/mechatronics/michael%20jackson/26.jpg.html) (Singing) Today's topic is Michael Jackson. Today we're going to talk about Michael Jackson. The disco Michael Jackson and the disco years. Michael Jackson was a hitmaker. He made the hits from the time he was a child with his brothers to the time on up to a grown man. I love the disco Michael. That's when everybody went dancing. When he was singing "Rock With You", everybody was singing and dancing to that song. I'll never forget the fun I had in a school dance with my classmates in my elementary years. We danced to that song. The school loved us. Those were the days when Michael Jacksons seemed a little more outgoing hanging out with Diana Ross. I remember seeing late night on TV Michael Jackson performing "Rock With You" with Diana Ross. Those were the good old days. Songs like "Rock With You" and "Off The Wall" always takes me back to the era of Disco. They were his most popular songs back then. I t was the 1970's when Michael Jackson began his solo career. Later, he became The King of Pop. It wasn't until after I bought Michael's Thriller album that I was able to buy his album Off The Wall. I always had his single Rock With You in my parents 45 record collection. I was only eight years old in those days, and albums in 1979 probably were about.....I don't know. $8, $9, or $10. Could have been less. Could have been more. I don't remember. If you bought Off The Wall and the Thriller album, they were albums worth buying. Deniece Williams (Niecy) - 2:5:20, 9:49 PM

Story by: Gail Nobles Podcast theme by: Gail Nobles Music arranged and Vocals by: Gail Nobles Other songs by: Deniece Williams/ Silly and Let's Hear it for the Boy Photo Credit: By Source, Fair use, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?curid=23373173 (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?curid=23373173) (Podcast Theme) It was somewhere in the 1980's when I first heard Deniece Williams sing. The first song I heard her sing was, "It's Gonna Take a Miracle", the next song, "I'm So Proud", and then the song "Do What You Feel". But she had an album in 1976 titled Deniece Williams "This is Niecy". A song from another one of her albums called "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" reached No. 1. It was a song she performed with Johnny Mathis released in 1978. Deniece Williams made many songs, and she has been singing for a long time. I was probably about 10, 11, or 12 when I was hearing her sing. I remember her single titled "Silly". Because Deniece sounded soprano, I was a little shy about singing her song. I didn't get along too well with high notes. (singing) I could never hit as high as Deniece Williams. Back then, I was just a mocking bird learning to sing: trying to mock records when I first heard Niecy. It did teach me something about singing. The most memorable song that I heard was, "Let's Hear It for the Boy" which was an album released in 1984. It was a song for a movie called "Footloose". Whenever they would show the preview of that movie on television, I would hear Deniece singing that song very little in the background. I remember hearing enough that I knew it was a hit song. I searched all over in stores for the single, but I was too early. And when I finally bought the single, I discovered and instrumental side. I learned the words to the song and would practice on it everyday. Today Deniece Williams is making diva stories. You can find her YouTube channel on YouTube. I really enjoy hearing her stories. You can find out more about what she's been up to at her website deniecewilliams.com. I'm Gail Nobles, and you're listening to The Hitmaker's Music Podcast show.

    Melba Moore's Single "Falling" Topic - 7:3:19, 2.10 PM

Song: Falling Song by: Melba Moore Song written by: Frannie Golde and Gene McFadden Story by: Gail Nobles Vocals and Keyboard music by: Gail Nobles Photo Credit: John Mathew Smith & www.celebrity-photos.com (http://www.celebrity-photos.com) from Laurel Maryland, USA • CC BY-SA 2.0 I'm Gail Nobles, and today's topic is..... (singing) The song is by Melba More from 1986. "Falling", and that's today's topic. The single peeked at number one on the soul singles chart for one week. he song was written by Frannie Golde ad Gene McFadden. I remember watching the video. Melba's video was like a mini movie to me. It wasn't just the music that made me watch it. The video told a story. The beginning made you want to go on in knowing what was going to happen next. There was an argument between Melba and her man. Melba: What do you want?!! Man: I can't live with you and a child anymore! And there was an actress of either a grandmother o a mom saying... Actress: You can't give up now. Everything is going to be just fine. That was my favorite part. It's good to have a mom or a grandmother to talk to. I'm missing all my grandmothers and mom today. When I saw that video, I felt this day that someday they would all be gone. But just like the voice in Melba's video, I can still hear them say that everything is going to be fine. The video "Falling" by Melba Moore helped me to understand her song more. She had fell in love again with someone else. The video filled in more of her story. The song doesn't mention what the video told at the beginning. Great stories make great videos. That's why Melba Moore's video was not just a music video, but a meaningful one. Melba sings meaningful songs with a great singing voice. She is still singing this very day. To find out more news and events on Melba, go to Melbamoore.com, and you'll find her on Instagram. That's the podcast story for today. You're listening to Hitmaker's Music.

The song became Mills' biggest hit on the US Billboard Pop Singles chart, where it peaked at number 6, outperforming her previously highest chart single, "What Cha' Gonna Do With My Lovin' ", which peaked at number 22. Hmmm! I love that song too. Anyway, I Never Knew Love is a beautiful song. When I first heard it, I loved it the minuet the music started, and when I heard Stephanie Mills, I loved her singing voice. I have never heard anyone sound like her. Stephanie Mills has a powerful voice. She has never stopped performing and is not unsung. I heard Stephanie Mills in an interview once say, "I'm still recording..." And while singing I heard her say, "I came here to sing for ya." After those words, she started singing "I Never Knew Love Like This Before". You're listening to Hitmakers Music.
