Umræðuefnið er í aðra röndina eðli og umfang dagbókaritunar á Íslandi um tveggja alda skeið, frá 1720 til 1920 og hins vegar allar þær raddir alþýðufólks sem heyrst hafa í skrifum sagnfræðinga frá því um 1970. Þróun sagnfræðinnar, eðli hennar og tilgangur er heldur hvergi langt undan. Bókin kom út hjá Háskólaútgáfunni árið 2021.</p>
