Hold My Heart is a sisters' podcast brought to you by After Maghrib Media Group. It's a safe and nurturing space for females across the globe to connect, reflect, and grow together. In a world filled with ideological challenges, hosts Sisters Rida & Zohra invite you to join them on a journey of soul-searching, sisterhood, and meaningful conversations that help navigate these challenges in a way that helps one another to grow both intellectually and spiritually.
an end to chapter oneIn the finale of Hold My Heart, Sister Rida, Fatimah, and Zohra reflect on the journey of the past months—moments of vulnerability, faith, and heartfelt conversations shared with their listeners. As they look back on the themes explored throughout the series, they also turn their hearts toward the painful realities unfolding across the Middle East. In these sacred nights of Ramadan, they remind us of the power of prayer, compassion, and unity. With Layali al-Qadr approaching, they invite everyone to remember the oppressed and grieving in their duʿa, asking Allah to bring relief, justice, and peace to those enduring hardship.Without your support we cannot any make of these possible, please consider becoming a monthly partner - https://www.aftermaghrib.com/donate

In this deeply moving episode, we sit down with sister Maya Azzawi, a SEND advocate in our community, as she opens up about her journey navigating her son’s autism diagnosis and the unexpected way it brought her closer to Allah. Maya speaks candidly about the emotional weight families carry behind closed doors - the grief, the guilt, the love, and the unwavering hope that rarely get spoken about in our community. We explore the stigma around disability within the Shia community, why so many families feel unseen, and how cultural expectations often silence those who need compassion the most. Maya shares what she wishes people understood about raising a neurodiverse child, the barriers individuals with disabilities face in our mosques and social spaces, and the small but powerful ways we can create more inclusive, loving environments. This episode had us in tears, and is one that will truly transform the way you perceive disability forever.
