Welcome to Hold on til Dawn! This podcast is all about mental health, suicide prevention, benefiting the AFSP, and how music ties it all together. Erin has been participating in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Out of the Darkness walks since October 2015 in memory of her father who took his life when she was six years old. She has hosted four benefit concerts; Wilmington, DE in 2022, Somerville, MA in 2023, Orlando, FL and Philadelphia, PA in 2025. In April of 2024 she created this podcast to share her mission of putting an end to suicide and making mental health a priority.

Preparing for The Overnight Walk with Philip Martinez

In this episode I am joined by the AFSP Illinois Chapter Board Chair, Philip Martinez. Philip has been involved in two of the AFSP Overnight Walks in Chicago and will be participating again June 13th. We discuss his previous experience with the overnight walks as well as his role as Team Captain for the AFSP Illinois Team for the upcoming walk. Once a year, thousands join together to walk through the night to fight suicide. The connections people make last a lifetime, and the funds you raise will save lives.
