Sometimes God's protection isn't seen until we look back.
In this episode of Hole in the Roof Chronicles, we share the story of our recent trip to Florida—a vacation we desperately needed after a difficult year. What began as an exciting journey quickly turned into a lesson in God's providence when two trailer tires failed within 30 minutes of each other, almost leaving us stranded just ten miles from our destination.
Looking back, we can clearly see the fingerprints of God all over the situation. The tire failure didn't happen on a busy interstate. Help and resources were available exactly when we needed them. New tires arrived at our campsite, and we made it home safely.
Was it a coincidence? Or was God fulfilling His promise found in Psalm 91:11?
"For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."
Join us as we recount the adventure, the challenges, and the powerful reminders that even when life takes an unexpected turn, God is still watching over His children.

Spoiler Alert #3: There Was No Apple
Most of us grew up hearing the same version of the story:
Adam, Eve… and an apple.
But what if one of the most recognizable details in the Bible… was never actually there?
In this episode of Hole in the Roof Chronicles, we go back to Genesis and uncover what Scripture really says—and what it doesn’t. From language and translation to tradition and artwork, we explore how the idea of an “apple” made its way into the story of the fall.
But this isn’t just about correcting a small detail.
It exposes something bigger.
How often do we accept beliefs we’ve never actually checked against the Word of God?
And even deeper—have we misunderstood who was truly responsible in the garden?
Looking at Romans 5, we confront a truth many overlook: sin didn’t enter through Eve’s deception, but through Adam’s disobedience.
This episode challenges more than a misconception—it challenges how we approach Scripture, truth, and obedience.
Spoiler Alert:
It was never about the apple.

Spoiler Alert #2: David Took Bathsheba
The story of David and Bathsheba is one of the most well-known accounts in the Bible. It’s often described as adultery — sometimes even suggesting that Bathsheba seduced the king.
But a careful reading of 2 Samuel tells a different story.
In this episode of Spoiler Alert, we revisit the account in 2 Samuel 11–12 and look closely at the details many people overlook: the power David held as king, the repeated language of “taking,” and the confrontation by the prophet Nathan that places the blame squarely on David.
When we read the text in its historical and cultural context, it becomes clear that this wasn’t a mutual love story — it was a tragic example of power misused.
Sometimes the story we’ve always heard isn’t the story the Bible actually tells.
