S2E13 | Reclaiming the Garden: Herbalism, Homeschooling, and Stewarding Our Design | Camila Johnson

Camila Johnson is a mom of four, a former public school educator, and the creator of Eden's Table, a Scripture-anchored herbalism curriculum for children. Join us for a conversation about her winding road to Jesus through a Bible camp, drifting away, then watching her own son come home from that same camp on fire for the Lord. It's about what twelve years in public education taught her was broken, and what finally made her say "I have to build this myself." And it's about slowly learning what it looks like to walk in the specific way God designed her, and to find her people once she did. We talk about herbalism as reclaimed ground rather than new-age territory, what it means to steward a body instead of outsourcing it, and the discipline of silence and solitude in a house that's never quiet. Our hope is that you walk away with the truth that you, and your kids, were fearfully and wonderfully made, on purpose, for a purpose. S2E12 | Your Adventure Isn't Over: The Hidden Work of Motherhood, Building a Discipleship Ministry, and Learning Joy is a Choice | Anelise Couch

What if the most sacred parts of motherhood are the ones nobody is watching? I sat down with Anelise Couch - a dear family friend, mom of five, and co-founder of Revolution5, a discipleship leadership school for young adults in Colorado - for a conversation years in the making. Anelise shares the middle-of-the-night moment that gave Revolution5 its name, the season she wrestled with feeling replaceable next to gifted women, and the decade-long journey through depression and anxiety that taught her joy is something you choose, not something you feel. We talk about what it means to mother in the hidden place, why picturing Mary on an ordinary, sleepless night might change the way you see your own 2am, and the image God gave Anelise of climbing toward the sunrise with her daughters' hands in hers - and what it meant for everything she thought she'd have to give up. S2E11 | Offered Emptiness | A Fasting Practice for Motherhood

A month ago, I hated fasting. I mean hated it; dreaded it, dismissed it, never understood the point. This episode is the story of how that changed. We're tracing fasting back to its roots; from Jesus in the wilderness, to a regular twice-weekly rhythm that shaped Christians for centuries, to the quiet way it slipped out of Western practice almost by accident. Along the way, we'll dig into what fasting actually does in us: how it builds trust, forms discipline, draws us into spiritual mystery, and turns our hearts toward justice. Not as a box to check, but as a genuine gift. And because moms don't need one more thing to fail at, we'll talk honestly about what this can look like in real, full seasons of life, including when food fasting isn't safe, and how abstaining from something else entirely can be just as formative. I'll also share what happened when I put this into practice, including an unexpected crisis that put everything I was learning to the test.
