She spent ten years on active duty in the U.S. Navy as a pilot and instructor pilot before becoming a mom 24 years ago and homeschooling her two daughters through high school.As a homeschooling parent, Jan confronted several learning disabilities in her home, including her daughter's dyscalculia diagnosis.
