Weather Service: More rain today; gusty Friday to be follow by sunny, warmer weekend -- and then more rain.
<p>Meteorologist Adam Baker with the National Weather Service in Peachtree City -- one of our favorites from the old radio edition -- hosts this week's weather forecast update.</p> <p>Among the updates:</p> <p>*WIND ADVISORY, 5 a.m.- 7 p.m. Friday. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph expected.<br> <br> * WHERE...Portions of north and central Georgia.<br> <br> * IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may<br> result.</p> <p>Also: Drier and warmer over the weekend and then more rain next week.</p>

National Weather Service: Update on wintry weather to our north overnight Thursday, Saturday morning. Plus: Much more rain next week.
<p>Welcome to the National Weather Service's weekly weather briefing that includes:</p> <ul> <li>A look at the possibility of wintry weather in Chattooga and Gordon counties overnight; no accumulation.</li> <li>A possible dusting very early Saturday morning.</li> <li>Two to three more inches of rain next week following a very soggy February. </li> </ul>

National Weather Service's special briefing on wintry weather expected Thursday as well as more rain, colder temperatures, potential black ice.
<p>Northwest Georgia, already coping with an extra 1.5 to 2 inches of rain this week, will see more rain Thursday. Some areas to our north -- including Gordon and Chattooga counties -- could see wintry precipitation as well. Some snow is possible as well as freezing rain.</p> <p>Another concern for Friday morning, as temperatures drop below freezing, is the potential for black ice.</p> <p>While north central and northeast Georgia will see more winter weather, there's a potential in parts of Northwest Georgia as well.</p> <p>This post is the briefing about what's ahead and what's possible from the National Weather Service's Peachtree City office.</p>
