In that same spirit, Honor Talk honors those heroes through real conversations about love, loss, and the life-changing power of donation.    Transplants, Tornadoes & Toughing It Out: Collyns’ Story of Resilience In this unforgettable episode of Honor Talk, Bobby Gomez and Ivan Sampson sit down with Collyns Hudson and her mother, Amanda Hutson, to share an extraordinary story of illness, transplantation, family, and resilience. What began with unexplained symptoms quickly became a medical mystery—earning Collyns the nickname “M&M,” for Medical Mystery, during her hospital stay. Eventually diagnosed with Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) and facing serious complications affecting her lungs and circulation, Collyns' journey ultimately led to the need for lifesaving organ transplants. At just 11 years old, she found herself fighting to breathe and navigating BiPAP, ECMO, transplantation, seizures, blood clots, and a long road toward recovery. Collyns' transplant story is especially unique: she is a pediatric lung and liver transplant recipient who received her lifesaving organs from two different donors. And somehow, transplants weren't the only storms this family had to weather. From medical emergencies to tornadoes and hurricanes, challenge after challenge came their way—and they kept moving forward.
