About Hope Bible Church GA Podcast - The King James Bible

Hope Bible Church believes the King James Bible is the inspired word of God. We emphasize "rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Tim. 2:15) as the key to understanding Scripture. This involves distinguishing between God's prophetic kingdom program for Israel and the mystery program for the Body of Christ. While all Scripture is for us, we recognize that the apostle Paul is the designated spokesman for the Body of Christ in this current dispensation of grace. We follow Paul's pattern and revelations, which were kept secret until revealed through him (Rom. 16:25).

10 - KJB - The Main Reason to Reject the Modern Versions - David O'Steen

Streamed live on Jun 9, 2021 The King James Bible (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvWuGe0XENWsbzFRRJr917IcJJg2Dbzxm)6/6/21 - David O’Steen - https://www.hopebiblechurchga.com (https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqazZrdVZ1RUF6WGJmNWR5UnVfNnJxUmZHQVdpQXxBQ3Jtc0tuLUk3SjVIbkFINFZ0T0FsUVR3ZDZVZXhZdm5rLUlrZGdsd0FweUo3Q1k5cWJzNXF6bDFfRURmLTV6OHdoWXd1Ri1jSW9xYm9vZlRiSXVaVzRiZ28wSjZFR3plN29hWHpWS3VtVktFdVJBdndNTVNWaw&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hopebiblechurchga.com%2F&v=x2VnJYiQE2o) pastor, David O’Steen from Hope Bible Church, delivers a sermon titled "The Main Reason to Reject the Modern Versions (KJB 10)" arguing that modern Bible translations (e.g., NIV, ESV, NASB, NKJV) primarily undermine and attack the person, deity, and redemptive work of Jesus Christ. He stresses the inseparable connection between the incarnate Word (Jesus) and the written Word (Scripture): exalting one exalts the other, while attacking one attacks both. The Holy Spirit glorifies Christ, and all Scripture testifies of Him (citing John 5:39, 15:26).The core reason to reject modern versions, he claims, is their numerous alterations that diminish Christ's divinity and gospel truth—changes he attributes to satanic influence rather than divine inspiration. Examples include: Calling Satan the "morning star" (Isaiah 14:12), blurring his title with Christ's (Revelation 22:16). Weakening prophecies of Christ's deity (e.g., "God will provide himself a lamb" in Genesis 22:8 becomes less emphatic). Altering "the Son of God" to "a son of the gods" (Daniel 3:25). Removing "God was manifest in the flesh" (1 Timothy 3:16) or "by Jesus Christ" in creation (Ephesians 3:9). Omitting key phrases like "through his blood" (Colossians 1:14), "Lord" in addresses to Jesus, or the Comma Johanneum (1 John 5:7) on the Trinity. Softening virgin birth implications or worship of Christ. He expresses deep grief and anger that Christians use versions that "attack their Savior," viewing them as corrupted mixtures of truth and error (like Satan's tactics in Genesis 3), driven by pride and profit. The King James Bible alone, he asserts, preserves pure words that fully glorify Christ's deity, virgin birth, sinless life, blood atonement, resurrection, and gospel. He urges sincere believers to reject modern versions on this basis alone, closing in prayer thanking God for the KJB's exalted portrayal of Christ.

Drawing from Hebrews 4:12, he describes the Word as living, powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing the heart and discerning thoughts—this applies equally to Christ (Revelation 19:13, where He is named the Word of God) and the Bible. The pastor highlights shared titles, attributes, and works: both are sinless/infallible, faithful and true, light-giving, life-quickening, soul-saving, judging, and sanctifying (citing verses like John 1:1-14, Psalm 119:105, James 1:21, and John 17:17). He stresses that the Scriptures testify of Christ (John 5:39), and God’s preserved Word in English is the KJB—pure, without error, and superior over 400 years. He rejects modern Bible versions, claiming they diminish Christ’s exaltation through textual changes, and accuses Satan of counterfeiting both Christ (Antichrist) and Scripture. Believers must trust the KJB as final authority, magnify it (Psalm 138:2), preach it, and let it nourish faith and spiritual life. The core message: Christ and His preserved Word are one—essential for knowing God, salvation, and righteous living.

This was not human opinion but God’s eternal Word. When Baruch publicly read the scroll, it powerfully convicted the hearers—princes feared, hid it, and urged caution (power; Hebrews 4:12). The Word forces a decision: believe, reject, or compromise.King Jehoiakim arrogantly burned the scroll to destroy it, yet this attack failed completely (Satan’s futile opposition). God simply instructed Jeremiah to rewrite it, adding even more words (preservation; Psalm 12:6-7). The king’s rebellion contrasted with Josiah’s earlier humility and led to judgment.O’Steen stresses that God’s Word endures forever despite human attempts to alter or destroy it. He urges believers to trust, obey, and defend the preserved Bible against modern criticisms or changes, living by its unchanging truth.

Streamed live on May 19, 2021 The King James Bible (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvWuGe0XENWsbzFRRJr917IcJJg2Dbzxm)5/19/21 - David O’Steen - https://www.hopebiblechurchga.com (https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbTgzcWdpY0NSU0J0dFZjOTVubVBnWkd0OG5lUXxBQ3Jtc0tudVRLX2J2bTRJRlB3RWI1YkNnSnVjOHJQUFo1M0ZtTEowenExdzNrb3ZEUDZOdTBsT01PVXZvVWl1bXZVdHZtS1Q3NUNXNTIxV203MUxhMmtFeFFkZ2FXLTF3STBUWEQxUWYwOVg0ZVM5eUJSSVNKNA&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hopebiblechurchga.com%2F&v=Xplz9bj8Brw) In this sermon from Hope Bible Church, Pastor David O’Steen teaches on the preservation of Scripture, part of a King James Bible (KJB) series. He argues that since God inspired the Scriptures, He must also preserve them perfectly—not just the original manuscripts, but the actual words through copies and translations. Citing verses like Psalm 12:6-7 (“thou shalt preserve them... from this generation for ever”), 1 Peter 1:23-25, and Isaiah 40:8, he stresses that God’s Word is incorruptible, lives, and abides forever. The pastor explains that preservation means guarding the words against corruption, especially as Satan attacks them (Genesis 3:1; 2 Corinthians 2:17). God promises to keep His pure words intact, not merely ideas or doctrines. This extends beyond original languages to translations, with the King James Bible presented as God’s preserved Word in English. He notes God used Israel for the Old Testament and the church for the New (Romans 3:2; 1 Timothy 3:15), but preservation is ultimately God’s miraculous work. Jesus Himself affirmed this by treating copies as authoritative Scripture, declaring not one “jot or tittle” would pass from the law (Matthew 5:18) and that His words would never pass away (Matthew 24:35).O’Steen contrasts corrupt human words with God’s preserved ones, urging believers to trust the KJB as sufficient and reliable for faith and practice, rejecting modern versions that alter key passages like Psalm 12:6-7.

    6 - KJB - Inspiration of Scripture - David O'Steen

Streamed live on May 12, 2021 The King James Bible (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvWuGe0XENWsbzFRRJr917IcJJg2Dbzxm)5/12/21 - David O’Steen - https://www.hopebiblechurchga.com (https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbVNFUnNpUHpoN0VkYTF4WGVwSTJLRkJQbmRBd3xBQ3Jtc0tsOXFiSXpSdEtBQTM4aERUdUxScG1NckdwVl9mWjJGTzh1WExBcGt4TDQxcDdBdktiTmpzOE5sLTVXLXIyTnloRTZCVmZfUTFUOGdyUEVaaW5yNDFCZEdVMHRJSElvSGU4TTlKRmVEbE9valJUa0JtQQ&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hopebiblechurchga.com%2F&v=bP-Wx4ij2UQ) The pastor, David O’Steen of Hope Bible Church, delivers part 6 of a series on the King James Bible, titled "Inspiration of Scripture." He strongly affirms the verbal plenary inspiration of Scripture, teaching that all of the Bible—every word—is directly given by God (2 Timothy 3:16: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God").He contrasts this with incorrect views: Natural inspiration (just human talent) Mystical inspiration (human spirituality) Degree or partial inspiration (some parts more/less inspired) Conceptual inspiration (only ideas, not exact words) Instead, he explains that God supernaturally inspired human authors, using their personalities and styles while ensuring the precise words were His (citing examples like David in 2 Samuel 23:2 and Psalm 45:1, or Paul's scribe in Romans 16:22). Inspiration is a miraculous act requiring faith to accept, not fully explainable by human reason. The pastor extends this to argue that God's preservation ensures the inspired Word remains perfect in translations, including the King James Bible in English—not limited to "original manuscripts" only. He references verses like Romans 9:17 to show Scripture retains authority across languages.Ultimately, inspired Scripture equips believers fully for doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction, maturity (2 Timothy 3:17), and spiritual warfare (as the sword of the Spirit, Ephesians 6:17). Without divine inspiration and preservation, the Bible would lack its power against deception.

5 - KJB - How God Gave us the Bible - David O'Steen

Dec 2, 2020 The King James Bible (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvWuGe0XENWsbzFRRJr917IcJJg2Dbzxm)David O'Steen - KJB #3 - https://www.hopebiblechurchga.com (https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqa281ejhVTXRmYW9wS3lKOTZReUM1R0Fwa3NOQXxBQ3Jtc0tuMnZDTFNyWF9mYXJfZUpCSGx3NUFYdlpLWWZSV1I2R0kyUG5pREl3dElvRFBFM09qcU80WlNIQ1BLSUJnSzItRDRrQ0hyYkVzaDdhcG1fbVppVHU5TFo5YlZLM2ZDUC1rNXhaMnY1RjdNaGJ4T3dhWQ&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hopebiblechurchga.com%2F&v=wmGQiV534zo) The pastor, David O'Steen from Hope Bible Church, explains in this sermon titled "KJB (5) - How God Gave us the Bible" the divine process by which God provided humanity with the Scriptures. He outlines six key steps: Revelation: God discloses what He wants us to know (Deut. 29:29), progressively through history. Nature and conscience reveal God's existence and basic morality (Rom. 1:19-21; Ps. 19:1-6), but Scripture gives full, soul-converting truth (Ps. 19:7). Inspiration: The Bible is plenary verbally inspired—every word from the Holy Spirit (2 Tim. 3:16). About 40 authors wrote over 1,500 years, yet it forms one cohesive book (examples: 2 Sam. 23:2; 2 Pet. 1:16-19). Preservation: God promises to preserve His pure words forever (Ps. 12:6-7). Though originals perished, accurate copies (Masoretic Hebrew, Textus Receptus Greek) endure, unlike corrupted streams. Canonization: The 66 books were recognized as inspired Scripture early on (1 Tim. 5:18; 2 Pet. 3:16), rejecting apocrypha and other texts. Propagation: God spreads His Word worldwide (Ps. 68:11; 1 Tim. 2:4), with the King James Bible being the most widely distributed (over 1 billion copies). Translation: God enables accurate translation into languages (Acts 2 at Pentecost; Rom. 16:25-27), preserving meaning without loss. The pastor emphasizes that the King James Bible represents the preserved, inspired English version, trustworthy because of God's faithfulness to His promises.

4 - KJB - Reasons to Believe the King James Bible - David O'Steen

May 5, 2021 The King James Bible (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvWuGe0XENWsbzFRRJr917IcJJg2Dbzxm)5/5/21 - David O'Steen - https://www.hopebiblechurchga.com (https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbmZoVXZnZnhBU3hmRy1HclVGYm1NY0NNOWpkZ3xBQ3Jtc0tsR29wNERpa19TWC1idmVRWU9XVjJLNXROdjc1U2MtSzdKT0htQ3ZTMnF2ejNCMDk5SVVGeWE1S0FoWGxqZEYyZXFiOWJvVlNiZWVUMG9qZERJaEN4blV3Y2ZXNGFKbmhaczkwZUJ1Y0htZG81OXduYw&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hopebiblechurchga.com%2F&v=NE0pwDI63Z8) The pastor, David O'Steen from Hope Bible Church, delivers a sermon titled "KJB (4) - Reasons to Believe the King James Bible." He argues that the King James Bible (KJB) is the true, inspired, and perfectly preserved Word of God for English speakers. He begins by stressing that genuine faith rests on trusting God's Word, citing examples like Abraham and the "infallible proofs" of Christ's resurrection in Acts 1 (contrasting the KJB's wording with modern versions' weaker "convincing proofs").Key reasons he gives for believing the KJB include: It exalts Jesus Christ more fully (e.g., retaining "through his blood" in Colossians 1:14, omitted in many modern translations). It has no proven errors after over 400 years and is perfect/pure. It enables proper Bible study through "rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15). It is powerful, convicting sinners, fruitful in missions, and shows divine design (e.g., intricate patterns and cross-references). It is received by common people and heavily attacked—evidence of its divine authority (Isaiah 40:8). Modern versions corrupt doctrine (e.g., altering phrases like "faith of Christ"), lack power, and align with liberalism. He praises the KJB's Elizabethan English as accessible, non-copyrighted, and truly "the people's Bible." The sermon closes with a call to renewed commitment to the KJB as God's living, preserved Word.

    3 - KJB - A Faith Position - David O'Steen

Streamed live on Apr 28, 2021 The King James Bible (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvWuGe0XENWsbzFRRJr917IcJJg2Dbzxm)4/28/21 - David O’Steen - https://www.hopebiblechurchga.com (https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbnpsQjU1SzlFZXp6NG5zcm9CV3hoMmcxcXNXQXxBQ3Jtc0tudXpEQ011WmdZa3NodTBjOXFYeGhlenVVSzlOY0Nqc0hXajd2QVlhR2llZUZrUGU5U2s0QUJNZVcxRlE1bF93TDNPZENKUkJkZXg0Q29LaFhMVVVDcnRubG9vS2h1RnZCcVhqMkV0VnJPMTBRZm5LZw&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hopebiblechurchga.com%2F&v=jba2umpDzRk) Pastor David O’Steen of Hope Bible Church delivers a sermon titled "KJB (3) - A Faith Position" defending the King James Bible (KJB) as the preserved, inspired Word of God for today. He argues that true faith means believing what God says about His Word, not relying primarily on human scholarship, manuscripts, or historical evidence. Drawing from verses like Romans 4:3–5 (Abraham's faith credited as righteousness), Ephesians 2:8–9, and Hebrews 11:3, he emphasizes that faith trusts God's promises over intellectual proofs.Key points include: God promised to preserve His words forever (Psalm 12:6–7, Matthew 24:35, 1 Peter 1:23), and the KJB fulfills this as a perfect, infallible Bible in English—the language God uses to reach the world today. Scripture is spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14), requiring humility and reliance on the Holy Spirit, not human wisdom. He rejects the common fundamentalist view that inspiration applies only to original autographs and preservation only to Hebrew/Greek texts, calling it inconsistent with God's promises. The KJB's authority is supernatural—like the virgin birth or resurrection—not dependent on the translators' flaws or King James I. Believers must approach the Bible with childlike humility (Proverbs 3:5, Isaiah 66:2), accepting the KJB as the final authority rather than elevating fallible men, traditions, or other translations. In summary, O’Steen presents believing the KJB as God's preserved Word as a necessary faith position, essential for right understanding of Scripture and salvation, rather than a conclusion from textual criticism or debate.

    2 - KJB - Why it Matters - David O'Steen

He argues that the choice of Bible version is not trivial but profoundly significant, as the KJB stands as the uniquely inspired and perfectly preserved Word of God in English, while modern translations contain errors, omissions, and alterations that undermine its authority.O’Steen emphasizes that God's Word provokes division, as seen in Jesus' ministry (John 7:43; 10:19) and the contrast between Christ and Satan in Luke 4. He rejects the notion that versions are "basically the same," insisting the KJB has proven error-free for over 400 years. He outlines three key reasons the KJB matters: Soul Authority — The Bible alone is the final authority for faith (Psalm 138:2; John 17:17). Multiple conflicting versions shift authority to individuals or scholars, leading to error and reliance on human wisdom rather than God's truth. Spiritual Growth — True maturity comes from the pure, inspired Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Peter 2:2). Modern versions, tainted by mistakes, hinder this like "trash mixed with good food," while the KJB enables proper study and nourishment. Spiritual Warfare — Scripture is the believer's offensive weapon (Ephesians 6:17). Jesus defeated Satan with "It is written," but Satan twists words. Modern versions aid deception (e.g., changes in Isaiah 14 removing "Lucifer" or aligning titles with Christ), weakening resistance in end times. O’Steen concludes that without the preserved KJB, effective ministry and defense against deception falter, urging faith in God's unchanging Word over human scholarship.

    1 - KJB - Two Ways - David O'Steen

Streamed live on Apr 14, 2021 The King James Bible (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvWuGe0XENWsbzFRRJr917IcJJg2Dbzxm)4/14/21 - David O’Steen - https://www.hopebiblechurchga.com (https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbkJGbmM2RXdSOENLZlM1YUQyWXJ3YTg2S2YxUXxBQ3Jtc0tuRDJsTU9kOVhxSXNhTWJLWm02Q3JLUDlLOFk4M1FkTmZqQldrZ2Z5blNVMmtERGZqbGpCbEpDRm82bUVuOWRKamZrUUpJYWhRNGNxZ1F5MXpFb05EOEtOTmdaX3pObEtTSXFVdWhqSUY2dktLZjkwYw&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hopebiblechurchga.com%2F&v=PHPhoXpPV74) The pastor, David O’Steen of Hope Bible Church, delivers the first lesson in a series on the King James Bible (KJB), titled "Two Ways." He explains there are only two possible responses to God's word: belief or unbelief—no middle ground. He highlights the believing response using 1 Thessalonians 2:13, where the Thessalonians received Paul's message not as human words but as God's, allowing it to work powerfully in their lives (also referenced in 2 Thessalonians 3:1). This faith produces effective results. In contrast, unbelief—often prompted by Satan—leads to doubt, revision, corruption, or misuse of Scripture. He points to Genesis 3, where Satan questions ("Yea, hath God said?"), twists God's command, and lies to Eve, resulting in the fall. Similarly, in Luke 4's temptation of Jesus, Satan casts doubt ("If thou be the Son of God"), misquotes Psalm 91 by omitting and adding phrases, and takes verses out of context. Jesus counters each time with "It is written," quoting Scripture precisely (e.g., Deuteronomy 8:3, emphasizing "every word of God").The pastor contrasts Satan's deceptive handling (doubt, alteration, misapplication) with Christ's perfect obedience—believing, quoting exactly, and rightly dividing the word (2 Timothy 2:15). He notes modern Bible versions often omit phrases Jesus used (e.g., "every word of God" in Luke 4:4), following Satan's pattern.Ultimately, he urges believers to follow Christ's example: trust the preserved word (the KJB), obey it fully, and stand firm against attacks on inspiration, especially in the last days. The sermon builds confidence in Scripture's power and authority
